Disneyland Paris Resort

Eh.. Have they changed over to Star Tours 2 yet? Their Star Tours was in awful shape but still fun in a retro kind-of way when I rode last year.

I'm there this weekend. I am pretty certain it's still original but I'll let you know!

edit: scrap that, it's closed all weekend!

I thought when I read that it was "being held up by duct tape," it was just an expression. But then I saw the duct tape.

From a reputable source (ED92); He is reporting that Hyperspace Mountain will be coming for DLP's 25th anniversary as long rumored "Space Mountain III".

Thoughts?

They want to get Star Wars into the park to increase attendance while sacrificing the original storyline of the ride (which was also sacrificed when they did Mission 2). It makes me sad because I want to see a return to the Jules Verne inspired Discoveryland not a quick cash in overlay.

The original was brilliant!

Planning a trip to Disneyland Paris next weekend and everything seems in place except transport from Charles de Gaulle to our hotel. We're staying here:

Relais Spa Val d'Europe in Chessy - Hotels.com

Is it possible to get the train from the airport or would a bus or car hire be better?

Train is possible, but i think you'd be better off paying to have someone transport you from A to B for your initial trek to the hotel. If you're young, packed extremely light (one smaller backpack that doesn't scream tourist but maybe college kid with books), and you're a bit world and street smart.. then take the trains. But as a tourist, especially with the language and culture barrier, getting an escort from A to B is helpful on day 1.

Point of Reference: Lived in Paris studying art/art history at the Paris museums between undergrad and grad school, had an annual pass to Disneyland Paris and took the trains there on the weekends.

I took the train from the airport. It was pretty easy and I don't know a lick of French. Once you get to the station, is there transportation to your hotel or...?

Train is pretty easy and pulls you right into the centre of the resort and I imagine you won't have a lot of luggage with just making a weekend trip.

I've looked at several ways in the past and whilst the train is best non a particularly cheap. One time I got the fights over for not much more than the short train ride.

The trains are very easy, no more difficult than London. The TGV is more expensive, but much faster than the Metro type trains.

TGV won't have beggars etc, Metro will.

As your hotel has a shuttle, I'd train all day long.

I'd say it's only an issue if you are taking the Metro, and are easily intimidated by the beggars. As Scott is from Scotland, I doubt he is!

I think I'm going with the train straight to the middle of the resort and the hotel is running a bus every half an hour from what I can tell so I'll get that back to the hotel. Going to push it back a few months now however. I'ts meant to be snowing next weekend and flights are about £200 cheaper going mid March. Ideally, we would go once Space Mountain opens back up.

Thanks everybody for all the tips!

This gave me a good laugh.

The Anniversary is April so SM should be open again in march id guess.

Oh and I meant because Scots are hardened to the outside world, not because there are loads of beggars haha

I thought that would interest you, it's from Disney Central Plaza, (it's the WDW MAGIC in vf)
This guy have been invited by Imagineering to visit the BTM before he reopen after his extensive refurbishment !

Some nice pics, and unique points of views !

Have a nice stay in Paris Scott !
Bonne journée =)

[Reportage] Visite du chantier de Big Thunder Mountain avant réouverture (2 décembre 2016)

BTM was closed last September during our visit so this is awesome. Cheers, mate!

That's us finally booked up. Heading out at the end of February so I'll try and give a trip report.

I've also booked, not going till October though. Been 7 years since I was last there, I know they've been working hard on the run up to the 25th so be interesting to see how it's looking.
