...

*looks left, then right*

I'm startled by how there isn't a thread for this film. :tease: They've been ironing out the cast list for the feature length adaption of the iconic Gearbox Software title, Borderlands; and it'll be directed by the one and only Eli Roth and written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl and the upcoming HBO TLOU adaptation). To be released by Lionsgate, the film has garnered a rather large ensemble cast, with today's addition of no exception.

Cate Blanchett - Lillith
Kevin Hart - Roland
Jamie Lee Curtis - Dr. Tannis
Jack Black (today!) - the voice of Claptrap

No release date has yet to be revealed, and no plot has been seemingly leaked either for the anticipated film.

i watched it, it felt normal. not great not terrible. just average. the acting was just regular. it felt like an episode of a scifi show. felt like some random mid season episode of something.

wasn't the worst movie ever made. it was a little boring. but Cate was kind of terrible In it.

Yeah I didn't need to see it

Borderland was great but to me peaked in Tales of the Borderlands and Borderlands 2....since then the writing for me has become pretty much meh. The film looked generic and they have learned nothing from the game adaptions that wanted to please fans

the best way to describe this was if you combine the 90s Mario Bros movie with Valerian.
and I don't mention those movies as a joke or as a cliche.
the sets and technology was the same as valerian. and the plot and the action felt like the 90s Mario Bros movie ( kind of)
a lot of this movie felt identical to valerian.

It wasn't the worst movie ever, but it was pretty dull for what could have been an amazing ride with multiple feature films and a few spin-off TV shows. This movie bombing and eliminating all chances of getting a Borderlands franchise DONE CORRECTLY is the disappointing part.

Needed much more emphasis on the weapons and should have borrowed from Zombieland's AR "Rule" pop-ups. But that really was the least of it's problems.

2 out of 5 stars.

it's really the new version of tank girl and judge dredd. this is literally a new version of judge dredd but with different characters.
I'm talking about the desert scenes of Valerian and dredd. same vibes.
the plot might be a little different and it's not as goofy or silly as tank girl. but it fits directly on that universe.
I'm not just mentioning bad 90s movies randomly. it has the same feel to those
