Did you guys crank up the ads recently? In a thread I'm getting a scrolling banner ad then a header ad before any posts and then every 4 posts or so there is another ad injected into the thread then finally 2 or 3 footer ads. On one thread I'm getting 7 comments with 6 ads

I haven't noticed any extra ads but every place I access the forum, I'm getting told it's not secure.

I know there is a correct thread for this but I can't find it.

I've seen that a few times as well. I just got a full page pop up where I had to select close ad in the top right when trying to reply to you

Yep, there are thread injected ads now.

@Scott The not secure is a Google Chrome thing. It used to be required for shopping websites but google is making a big deal of it for all websites now.

I’m seeing extra ads as well. Top of the screen on mobile and it follows you as you scroll.

Obviously it's up to you guys what shows and I don't want to whine; just wanted to make sure it was on purpose. The ads on here have always been pretty nice and I thought appropriate. Now it seems like someone bumped the lever to "extreme ads" with how many are filling up the screen.

Yeah, I've noticed the extra ads too. They're a bit of a nuisance.

The McRib™ is back! Tender boneless pork™ grilled to its sizzling best and marinated in thick, rich barbeque sauce. With juicy pickles and slivers of zesty onions, all on a fresh home-style roll. You won't want to miss out on this! For a limited time only at McDonald's™.
Note: this is just a dumb joke, although I am actually seeing more intrusive ads.

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed ads on mobile.

That will be why I've not seen any ads.

I always thought this was just a way to support the site and get a little banner under your name.

For a while there, I was having an ad show up in my response text window that kept me from being able to post. That was a year or so ago though.

We did make a change - and tried a new feature from Google, but wasn’t anticipating this. We’ll make a change to correct the amount showing up.

I've made the change - so ya'll should start seeing things revert back to normal. It may take a bit due to cookies - but you can speed up that process by clearing out your cookies/cache/etc on your phone.

I'm assuming all is good with the ads now?

Shameless plug - Yes, you can also remove all ads by signing up and donating to be a Premium member. Not only does it remove ads, but it also helps the site.

It was fixed immediately for me! Do you think you would lose in the long run if everyone bought V.I.P.?
