Fiddler On The Roof remake

Thomas Kail, who is mostly known as a theater director, having directed both In The Heights and Hamilton from their inception, and also directed Grease: Live for FOX and the upcoming recording of Hamilton going onto Disney+, will be directing a remake of Fiddler on the Roof. I'm personally really excited about this directorial choice as he seems to really have an eye for what works. Now do we really need a new version of Fiddler on the Roof? That's another question I guess. Knowing Kail, I wouldn't expect this to be a straight remake like Spielberg's West Side Story seems to be. I expect some diverse casting choices that will probably be controversial with purists of the show.

I’m hoping maybe Disney will be turned off of remaking it (Although I’m expecting them to bc $$$) because of the Nazi storyline.

They should just CGI the entire thing like Cats. Seemed to be a proven successful formula.
