Groupon and Universal Orlando have entered an agreement in which the online deal-maker will offer theme-park tickets to customers.

The pricing will be similar to that found for advance purchases on Universal’s official website — generally about $20 off the gate price. Groupon will sell single-day tickets to Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay water park as well as multiday passes to two or three attractions.

Groupon also has a limited-time admission offer that’s the equal of a five-day pass for the price of a three-day ticket. Its cost, which includes the power to go between the two theme parks, is $284.99 ($274.99 for ages 3-9). A single-park version also is available.

Of note, a Comcast owned Atarios is a major shareholder in Groupon.

Smart way to keep raising day prices while offering a percentage off for some...Now, if they could offer a buy one get one for Butterbeer, then I would be ecstatic

Since prices are same as the website I think this is a way to expose more guests to UOR than selling actually discounted tickets (hi SeaWorld).
