I recently returned to WDW as an adult solo traveller trying to rediscover lost youth and had such a good time that I'd like to revisit the experience in some form next year.

Since I've just done WDW it would be too soon to return there, so Universal Studios would be the next best option.

However, I have heard that Universal studios specialises more in coasters so I'm concerned that fear would overcome any fun.

At WDW my primary emotion on the Tower of Terror was terror, although that may be because it was my first ride at the Park, and I was taken by surprise; RnR Rollercoaster was thrilling and enjoyable, and not very scary; and Space Mountain and Expedition Everest were bearable, and definitely 'thrilling', but I'm not sure if I really enjoyed them or not.

Well, I won't ride ANYTHING you just mentioned, I'm just as happy in a slow moving boat ride. Part of why I like Universal is there is so much I will ride, spider-man, transformers, forbidden journey, fallon, kong, fast and furious, gringotts are all pretty accessible thrills.

I'd say, from what you posted here, the only things at Uni I wouldn't ride are Hulk, Rockit, and Doctor Doom's FearFall. Otherwise, nothing is overly thrilling. Mummy is similar to RNRC, it just doesn't go upside down. I don't know if you did Splash Mountain, but Jurassic Park and Dudley Do Right have similar drops, though a little steeper.

the drops in the water ride are bigger and steeper but only by 20 feet or so.Hulk is pretty similar to rnrc so if ur able to do that hulk should be easy.Dr doom is only scary when it shoots up after the first drop its becomes more of a scenic ride. Finally rock-it is terrifying and even people who like roller coasters hesitate before riding it.

I would argue that Hulk might be more scary than Rock-It from a coaster perspective. I love coasters and felt that Rock-It was pretty tame (aside from the vertical lift) because of all the trim brakes. Hulk is much more thrilling and hard-hitting. Completely agree on the water rides. If someone can ride Splash Mountain with no worries, they can ride UNI's water rides. I can't think of any other rides that would pose a challenge.

I agree with you on hulk, but IMO the drop on rip saw falls is a lot more thrilling than Splash. Especially the burst of airtime you can get at the end makes it a lot more thrilling alone.

I won't ride Hulk, Rip Ride Rockit, Dr. Doom's Fear Fall and Dudley. I can ride everything else at Universal though. I can ride everything at WDW.

I've ridden everything.

I love Tower of Terror but really don't like Doom and feel its scarier.
Hulk was my first big boy coaster and after the initial launch and loop you won't have any fear, but it can knock you around a bit.
Dudley is definitely more extreme than Splash

The absolute scariest ride I can think of at Disney or Universal is Rock It, only because of the vertical lift. Once you get over that, its fine.

Personally I’d say hulk is probably the most thrilling ride , and rock it comes close second. Everything else is medium to low thrill.

I personally don’t like drop rides like doom, but for a drop ride it’s not that bad compared to others I’ve been on. If you were scare of tower of terror that might be an issue.
