Iron Gwazi (General Discussion)

I'm probably being delusional here because I really want this to open this year, but the news release specifically says they're postponing the opening of rides "that were still under construction". Did they further specify on the call that it applies to all attractions?

And I realize there's currently a crane on-site at Iron Gwazi, so that doesn't bode well for it not still being "under construction", but we all saw how close it was to opening when the parks closed in March. Plus, why bring RMC back on site now if they're just going to let the ride sit there not running for 6-8 months?

I think it will be open for Howl-O-Scream, Christmas the latest. Both Halloween and Christmas are big money makers for BGT-- opening Iron Gwazi would be a draw for one or both of those as well as something to keep locals coming all winter in what would be a deadly slow (slower than normal) time of year. Year round parks really don't have to launch a ride in spring.

Christmas might not be bad for soft openings

They did say 2021 for new attractions in their earnings call, so I think that applies company wide

National Roller Coaster Day is August 16th, though a Sunday grand opening would be a bit unusual - but maybe they could spin it as National Roller Coaster Weekend and open it on Friday or something - although that's only like 12 days away so it might be a bit too ambitious.

Labor Day weekend would be my next guess.
