Knott’s Scary Farm is back!

We spent a night in the fog checking out what’s new for 2026, including Inked, Unearthed, and a few shake-ups around the Farm.

Knott's Scary Farm Gets All Inked Up For The 2026 Halloween Season - Inside Universal

The weather is allegedly getting cooler. It’s not, really, but at least there’s a nice breeze every so often; but that can only mean one thing: Knott’s Scary

Just curious: has Monte been running during haunt?

It has! Went on it opening night. The move to make is to wait towards the end of the night to ride it. The line should be very short by then.

^Thanks for that, I'll check it out. Have express so it shouldn't be too hard. Lol probably need to spend as much time as possible on Xcelerator before it breaks again, maybe for the last time.

As a first-time visitor I was pretty blown away by this event (went last Friday, 9/18). The houses are LONG and there's so many of them! The actors had more freedom than I'm used to at HHN, which led to some really fun scares and interactions like the ghosts cartoon-tiptoeing alongside us in Inked or the various Slashers just straight up blocking my path with a machete in Cinema Slasher (my two favorite houses). On two separate occasions (I wanna say Chilling Chambers and Calico Origins?) the final scareactor chased my girlfriend out of the end of the house and through the exit line which was unexpected and kind of hilarious. I really appreciated the preponderance of big puppets throughout the houses as well, something that's a little lacking at HHN Orlando this year (my home haunt).

The zones were also great. Really enjoyed the live music and flash mob aspects of Gore-ing 20s, we participated in the group dancing bit which really did make it feel like a madness was gripping the streets.

I've done regional theme park haunts before (BGW, SWO, Hersheypark) and this one was by far the most fully fleshed out and professional. I'm envious of those who get to go every year!

Knotts is the only event I think can compete with HHN Orlando, they are the two kings of Halloween. Just a little trivia in case you weren’t aware Knotts invented the haunted theme park, scarezones, and sliders. They are the OG.

I do get floored thinking this entire haunt theme park industry basically single handedly originated from Knott's.

I saw on Reddit someone claiming that tickets are now cheaper on many days...if anyone has a ticket or remembers what prices were before let me know if its true

Good sized crowd last night (Thursday). The line for the hanging 20 minutes before the 2nd show was almost to Chilling Chambers.

Inked is a great maze. Unearthed is fun.

I should be going in the next week or two. I'm thinking my route will be to hang out Camp Snoopy or Silver Bullet area and head for Inked first. Then head to Unearthed. I don't like doing the two new things first but I hear the line for Inked is bad and I hate the Mystery Lodge lines.

What time is the best time to hit The Hanging? I always find it hard to fit it into my night.

The first show wasn't too bad line-wise last night. Though it might clash with getting the first 2 mazes in.

I'm at the event tonight. I recognize that this isn't an exact measurement, but at 6:45 PM, there's no traffic on Beach Blvd., the premium lot is still closed and the security line does not extend beyond Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Maybe security is getting faster, but I doubt that's the case. This absolutely seems deader than usual. We'll see how the lines go.

Super curious about Inked, though. I really love the concept and people here have been positive.

If you see me, say hello! I have two Lil' Boos on my shoulder (and I can charge your phone because I'm always packing extra batteries lol).

I think its good for fans, it seems like house lines from what I've heard are not too bad this year mostly and you can get everything done without waiting much

I think mostly its
1) The economy is really bad right now, Disney is doing Holiday ticket sales.....DISNEYLAND during its busiest time is like "please come in with these pretty cheap tickets" so I think gas, food prices and many people's jobs just not paying enough make it where you cut fun things like this
2) While.I doubt its like superrrr hurting the event, the no filming in houses + crapping on Media (who you invite...lol) means the park is getting covered less, no 5 Fires this year or Ordinary Adventures and live streamers aren't really coming. So the event is not being highlighted as much
3) HHN hype is insane and Six Flags FF is getting Rave Reviews from YouTuber's and Vlogs, not saying they are taking too many people away but when other events are getting some amazing reviews that keep getting pushed because filming the events are allowed, along with keep season passes for said events I think this is another little thing hurting the event

As an person who goes to this event every 5-10 years, from the outsite it looks really amazing (outside the hanging which seems fine but not worth a second viewing) the new houses look really cool, the new shows are great and the Carnevil scarezone with the new characters seems to be working great. I think just outside factors might be hurting the event this year

I would actually consider going the Ghost Town entrance route. They are doing an opening show moment every night and they have people move up to Calico Square for that. So if you are corralled in Ghost Town (I assume the area by Silver Bullet is the same) you will be up by the train which is that much closer to Inked if you want to hit it first. I saw it hit triple digit numbers last weekend, just FYI, so getting that one done first is a good idea.

If you are prioritizing doing The Hanging, your options are going to be the 10:15 PM or midnight slot. You might have to decide that one on the fly depending on how your night is going.

The last few weeks, I have found that there is a sweet spot in those early hours of the event. I expect that to change as we get further into October. I was there on Saturday for a few hours and it was pretty busy. I also think it was a rough night in general with the heat, crowds, and unruly groups messing with the talent.

The 145 minute line for Inked on Saturday would like a word. As we get into October and the average person remembers that Halloween events are a thing, this event will get significantly busier than it already has been so far.

I was there Saturday too. My gosh, the heat was crazy - I really feel for the scare actors, especially the ones in mazes. I made good use of the drink wristband from the boofet, lots of powerade consumed.

I'm done for the season. The returning mazes seemed better than last year except Chilling Chambers and Room 13. Was that the Halloween Hoitenanny skull in Cinema Slasher?

They really need a show in the big theatre, and I wish they had a bigger venue for The Hanging, but I guess Wagon Camp is it unless they ditched the high flying pyrotechnics.

Hopefully Six Flags doesn't ruin this event.

Good to see Chopper back prowling Ghost Town and the boofet.

If you are referencing the projector monster at the end of Cinema Slasher, that was a purpose built effect for the maze. From what I have heard, the Halloween Hootenanny skull was damaged and/or broken.

They really need something in the Walter Knott Theater. I would love to know what happened with the Boulet Brothers. It definitely seemed like they had stuff in the works, and even at Nightmares Revealed it felt like they were maybe scaled back.

I was stoked to see Chopper back. He is a GTS legend!

Absolutely they need something back in the Walter Knott's theater. It will help tremendously with the lines.
