Man accused of molesting 14-year-old at Universal Orlando
ORLANDO --
A man arrested at Universal Orlando is accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old girl.
Police arrested 48-year-old Carlos Marino Guia Wednesday and charged him with lewd or lascivious battery on a person under 17 years old.
Police say a witness saw Marino Guia try to look up the shorts of a 14-year-old girl sitting on a railing while in line for the Simpsons ride and then put his face against her buttocks.
Investigators did not say the exact relationship between the victim and the witness.
The witness told police when she confronted him, Marino Guia called her crazy. She then gathered her family, left the line and asked a ride attendant for help, according to the arrest report.
That’s when police say Marino Guia took off, but was spotted by security trying to blend in with the Mardi Gras crowd.
Officers said they caught up with him toward the front of the park and was identified by the witness and victim.
Police say Marino Guia told them he was homeless and sometimes stayed at an Orlando shelter.
No bond has been set.
