At least now I know where Helen found dry land & filled her bag with dirt ....unless it was Hollywood Drift Hill

Did they renovate SS12 or just repaint the exterior?

Sorry to go off topic, PM me if you can't respond here. But did the contract finally get updated? I thought it was still ongoing negotiations

I don’t think so. It’s been done for a bit.

That would be it. To be honest, it’s very impressive and is a really nice space to hang out or grab some breakfast or lunch in.

Just a repaint. The Voice moved stages a while back, to the one behind Courthouse Square, and they finally got around to painting over their logo. Can’t even remember if they updated it to the new color scheme, tho.

Just so we are on the same page. This area in Yellow is Tram area I think is rumored to be used. The Green area is area I dont think they will touch but could if they need more space in 15+ years.

I can’t see them move tram. It serves a lot more purposes than people think. They would need to do a lot of rerouting and seems too much hassle for the outcome TBH

In 2016 when they were originally planning on having SNW take Mummy and the Cluster--Studio Tour relocation would've occurred down in the Lower Lot to the left of Transformers.

The bigger issue is the maintenance barns, but the electrification could help allow them to consider other areas as viable options. (*honestly a part of me wonders if the old Prop Plaza could become a new HQ for trams in repair and treatment*)

whatever they do will have to be really thought out. Lots of moving pieces connected to that whole area in falls lake.

Sure but it would be the way to stay a studio and get enough attractions for people to want to do two days and stay at the hotels more

Plus we just have too many ignored classic universal, Hp, dreamworks and Nintendo ips

The only way to get more is to make room, but doubtful it happens now until after 2030 if ever

i agree it is gonna be a while before we even see something like that happen. Right now, the park is 100% not even thinking about spending tens of millions of dollars on expansion.

Personal observation but I don't think they simply aren't "thinking" on the matter. More that we're in a weird period where other things need to trickle down and fall into place.

Also doesn't help that we have a literal ticking time bomb with the Simpsons contract expiring in 2028. Combine that with preparing the lot for LA2028 for the IOC and tourism use, it makes sense that the approach that Universal may be taking here is a bit different (one that while still encourages and brings projects for the property; might not be to the level that they theoretically "should" be doing).

I think what will happen is that they will just let it stay open till 2028 then close it and start the next project.

If I was looking at how USJ closed Spider-Man, the takedown of elements was near instantaneous that had the branding represented. I'd assume the time of dismantling the thematic elements of Springfield will be much more intensive here compared to Orlando, where I think we see the land close well before the contract end-date. That way, they can legally wipe their hands clean of The Simpsons.

as for other things, I wonder when construction starts on Park Lake; if they follow a similar construction timeline to that of Barham (and if that then affects productions nearby the already built soundstages).

Plus I imagine Universal would probably want another attraction at the park in addition to F&F for LA2028 and Simpsons will be the logical place to do it.

The foundation of the showbuilding is in bad shape and will need to be heavily redone to accommodate a new ride so hopefully they can move diligently and get it open by the olympics.

I am curious to see what IP they will go with for a replacement as I don't see USH getting Pokemon like Orlando is tipped to replace their Simpsons land with.
