In what might be one of the dumbest things I have seen all year, the first trailer for Piece By Piece is out.

And despite it's dumb look; I am kind of all in on it.

Yup. This looks weird as hell and I'm here for it.

This looks alight but it's obviously not going to top the Lego Movie. Speaking of, I seem to remember that Universal got the Lego Movie rights from WB after the Second Part underperformed. But nothing has seemingly come from that as of now for whatever reason.

I get the sense when Universal got the ability to do LEGO movies; it came with the caveat that they couldn't do a damn thing with the WB characters.

Could've sworn for a good bit there was speculation and rumors on them tapping to legacy content, BTTF being one of them; as viable means of making into a LEGO movie--but somehow Pharrel Williams got his shot to be first up. Makes me think this is a creative choice, especially with them going as hard as they are with how things are being represented.

Honestly the film gives me biopic combined with documentary; told through a perspective that allows creative expression. It feels completely at home with the brand style that Pharrel has come up with; and it oddly makes me excited because of that.

The notion of Lego movies based on legacy Universal IP gives me vibes of those Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney Princess specials on D+. However these Universal Lego films would obviously be much higher quality.

On a side note, Pharrell Williams also has a film of some sort in development at Illumination as well.
