SeaWorld Orlando today announced it will increase the minimum starting pay rate for employees – referred to as ambassadors – to $10 per hour. This 50-cent increase will be effective July 1, 2016. SeaWorld also will be increasing wage rates for nearly 100 job titles, both existing positions and new hires, as part of the company’s commitment to compensate employees with competitive pay. The increases will apply to roles in the three Orlando parks: SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark.

Prospective employees can visit SeaWorldJobs.com to see all available positions and submit applications.

Disney and Universal have been at $10 (or possibly more by now)... so this isnt something to be championed.

Also, front-line increases always result in increases in merch, food & bev, etc, etc to guests around the parks.

I think this may also be geared towards hiring better team members if that makes any sense. Normally, the more competitive the company the better the people who work for them when it comes to hospitality and entertainment.

Not sure about Disney, but Universal is not starting their $10/hr until June. They raised it last year from $9 to $9.50.

UPDATE - Disney is increasing to $10 in July 2016.

So basically for one month Uni will have a .50 advantage over Sea World and Disney. And Disney and Sea World will increase in the same month. So similar to ticket prices, wages all seem the same too.

Must have been the exception. There's articles from Orlando Sentinel and other financial publications confirming this summer's $10 start pay.
