Going back to X2, though, will it have to stay up for a period of time while there's a possible investigation? Just because they closed the ride doesn't mean all these court cases are going away, and they have to be seen through. Is there a chance it will have to remain standing until all that is over?

I mean what if they tear it down before the request to inspect the ride is made

Its not a criminal investigation. Unless there is a court order to leave the ride standing, they can proceed with removing it. Believe it or not, this isn't the first rodeo . There were major injuries reported involving Green Lantern as well, but no headlines, and fortunately no deaths.

The only hurdle is the removal costs. That would be the reason the ride sits for awhile.

How is capacity for a dive coaster versus a giga? Typically, a giga offers more throughput and MM seems to need that. While dive coasters are adding more elements, I still think a giga offers more variety with regard to what it can do. Also, I would imagine that B&M or Intamin (yes, I know the history between CF and Intamin) would be open to creating a giga with a 90 degree drop.

I feel like everyone is forgetting that there's a B&M Dive 3 hours south in San Diego and Hangtime at Knott's has also been marketed as a Dive coaster.

...The final time I went on X2, I dislocated my jaw and had to pop it into place at the station. It was absolutely as rough as people say, and if ever there was a reminder of my age, that roller coaster was it.

That said, prior to that, I had many amazing rides, and it was a defining roller coaster in my teenage years as both X and X2, and those memories and photos will live with me until I expire. Farewell to a real one.

Yeah, barring any different investigation that forces them to not touch the ride, they're definitely free to do what they want with it. And the rumor is corporate wants the ride gone ASAP, so if that rumor is true, I don't see it standing for long.

With X2 officially gone, I really hope they are not super hasty with the replacement. They need to take their time and have a solid replacement. The wise move would be to combine Viper and X2’s plot for the ride.

I’m not sure if it Samurai Summit is still next after X2, but I would love for Superman to be replaced with a Mack extreme spinner shuttle coaster. Like Rideguy mentioned, they could still reuse the track (In theory at least) and then have a backwards portion that spikes up. Would love for them to keep the existing Superman spike and then literally add Bukanawa to the back portion of the ride.

Something tells me they will have no choice but to slow-walk that replacement unless someone is planning on donating a whole bunch of cash to Six Flags corporate sometime soon.

That is fine with me. I’d rather nothing sit there for a while so they can have a quality replacement several years down the line.

Not surprised. Hope they retrofit it to an Extreme Spinner!

Wascals is finally behind fences, hopefully for a refurbishment that was promised with the rest of Looney Tunes land


Bathrooms by the front of the park have reopened


It seems that all X2 merch has been removed
