New Soarin’ Across America to Debut at Disneyland and Disney World - Disney Parks Blog

Buckle up and get ready for takeoff! The fan-favorite attraction Soarin’ will be receiving an all-new airborne adventure across the U.S. That’s right— you’ll soon be Soarin’ Across America at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, debuting Summer 2026! The new bi-coastal offering will...

A very welcome development, and (assuming it's good), I see no reason this shouldn't be permanent.

Will be a very beneficial improvement to Epcot, and take off some heat from GOTG's standby line. Soarin' rarely receives long waits now.

This is what flying theaters should be doing, revolving their show every few years (or offering the opportunity to select which show).

Epcot's getting a nice suite of improvements between July 2025 - July 2026.

The unique thing about Soarin at Epcot is that they could show all three versions at once if they wanted to.

The problem would be the capacity hit if Soarin' USA is significantly better than World.

Assuming Soarin' America is a return to form, in my ideal world, DCA would switch between or simultaneously run California and America (I don’t think there’s much fondness out West for World), EPCOT could run all three installations, Tokyo would exclusively run World and Shanghai would run a version of Soarin’ unique to China’s own plentiful natural wonders.

EDIT: Hypothetically, a third DCA theater could go in the La Brea Bakery/Earl of Sandwich space when they get around to demolishing that.

In concept, this would be phenomenal. Three variants of the attraction on offer would really add nice variety.

In practice, capacity would be tough!

Maybe they can retrofit World sometime in the future so its on par with the other two (presuming USA is good).

Sounding more like the FlyOver experience in Vegas, which has already had "Wonders of the American West" for a while now. They also rotate in other locations, currently Canadian Rockies, Chicago (which gives the amazing illusion it was all done in a single take), and Iceland.

It's expensive, but in some ways I thought it was more impressive than Soarin' in that you have some movement that hoovers, circles, dives, and sometimes backs up, while Soarin' is basically all single forward motion.

This is a nice trend/path that WDW has been taking, namely updating existing attractions so that they're almost like a new experience/ride.
It makes good business sense, less expensive for the company than a new from the ground up attraction, and a an almost new experience
for the guests. Just a few that come to mind:
MK: Splash/Tiana, added film to Mickey's Philharmagic, Space Ranger update, Country Bears redo
DHS: Micky & Minnie replacing Great Movie Ride (same building), Little Mermaid new show, Villains replacing Cars show, 2026 new film
for Millenium Falcon, continual new films for Star Tours, new games for Midway Mania, Muppets theme replacing Aerosmith
AK: Zootopia replacing Bugs, Indiana Jones replacing Dinosaur
Epcot: Third version coming to Soarin, new Test Track, Guardians in part of Energy building, Frozen replacing Maelstrom
...........Probably more that slipped my mind

The comments for this announcement were not glowing on the social posts I saw. My favorite one said I'd rather be Soarin' Away from America right now. :lmao:

Sounds like they were more political than theme park oriented people.

Probably why this announcement was a social media post and not a D23 announcement.

im also cognizant that there's an entire generation of people for whom World is their Soarin'.

I thought the comments/response has been more favorable than negative. There's the obvious negativity, but I don't think that's shadowed the announcement.

This was probably greenlit recently. D23 last year had bigger things to announce and Destination D23 isn't known for new announcements.
