I figured its time to create a thread for this so lets get to the brass tax.

- Star Wars Rogue One will kick off the Anthology series taking place between Episodes III and IV where its been rumored of it revolving on the stealing of the Death Star Plans. It comes out December 16th, Next year.

- The future Han Solo anthology announced today is being directed by Frank Lord and Chris Miller (21/22 Jumpstreet, Lego Movie) And will release on May 25th, 2018.

What are your thoughts on the current lineup of the Anthology series and what stories would you like to see take place in the Universe?

I thought "Rebels" was taking care of the III and IV in between story. Sounds like they want to squeeze SW like Frozen. Oh man people are going to start hating on SW! :(

Rogue One is going to be amazing.

Less sold on the Han Solo movie, BUT Lord and Miller have made a career of making awesome movies out of terrible ideas, so I have hope.

Not really, infact; It makes sense to place the first three films in-between III and IV.

Keep in mind, a lot happens in between Episode III and IV. Theres a lot of stories to tell of what happens in-between this part. I do wish for an eventual Old Republic film as that'd give a lot of backstory to the creation of the universe but i'll be fine with the first three to be set here.

No, I meant the amount of Star Wars films in development. Or am I misunderstanding the news? Is it Episodes 7, 8,9.. as well as a Rogue One series.. and also a Han Solo series? If so, like I said, overkill.

Rogue One and Han's film aren't series, they're singular films

I took anthology to mean like a collection of works but let's be real.. if they're successful, and they will be, there will be more of them.

The current plan is this year EP VII, 2016 Rogue One, 2017 EP VIII, 2018 Han Solo, 2019 EP IX and 2020 the next fill in movie, possibly an Obi Wan film but really could be anything
