Down to the wire!
On a non-Pokémon note, I would actually like to see a new Animal Actors show - from what I can tell, this version has been going for 12 years. I've seen the show quite a few times, and yes, it's cute, and the theater gets pretty packed every time I'm there, but I feel it's time for a change.
Even if all of KidZone gets rethemed, I think this is something that should stay. Maybe move to the FFL stage if need be. If it stayed in Poke-land, I'm sure they could theme it as being "the real life animals of Pokémon" or something cheesy.
I wouldn't mind seeing a version of Animal Actors stick around, either.
If they get rid of Frank the Pug I will be very sad.
If the show remains, I'd think they'd want to keep that MIB tie-in as long as the ride is also in the park (which will hopefully be a long time!).
WE NEED MORE PUGS IN THE PARKS.
Please sign my petition.
Maybe the new MiB will have another cute dog character they could add to the show.
I have enjoyed your TED talk
Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but all of the merchandise kiosks in the back of the land are now gone, with the merch now being sold in the Barney store.
I’ve also heard that third shift is beginning work for the removal of the trellis’ in the Barney courtyard.
It’s happening!!?!? Still not going all in until it’s rubble.
That's actually reassuring to hear.
..but man, I am just waiting for when we hear about schedules.
What are trellis?
Trellis: a framework of light wooden or metal bars, chiefly used as a support for fruit trees or climbing plants.
Presumably, he's talking about these things:
Huh, so they'd be the first indicator if things are going down?
..and here I was, thinking if the indicator would be if those damn walls would come back up.
I do not think the removal of the Trellis indicates a closure. Pointless to remove those when a bull dozer can easily remove them faster and more efficiently than a 3rd shift crew can...
They're probably just old and gross and needing to be removed.
Watch them restore the trellises and redo the entry of Barney with new signage.
Kidzone will never die.
The structure would need to be disassembled either way. Bulldozers are mainly used for moving lose material and terrain leveling.
(though if the structure was just in disrepair, it may make more sense to just repair it)
One version of the Pokemon rumor I heard was that the Barney theater would stay and get an exterior retheme for som kind of show. So it might stay and KidZone might die?
But KidZone probably won't die because it never will.
That would explain the careful removal of of exterior theming over a wrecking ball.
