I'll never understand the love the house gets

On a personal level, my biggest fear is dark hallways, so the room with the long dark hallway that was only lit by "camera" flashes messed me up bad. Dead Silence tapped into this fear/anxiety pretty well also.

I'll never understand the love the house gets

For me, it was a high-concept house that managed to immerge me completely in its story, but also managed to be scary. Also it took an already tired trope--zombies--and managed to find a novel approach to them.
