Universal Studios Hollywood Detailed 1990's Timeline

The Studio Tour opened in 1964 and throughout the years it expanded into live shows like Animal Actors, Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show, etc. In the late 1970's -80s, they began more special effects driven shows like Castle Dracula, Miami Vice, A-Team, Star Trek, Conan and also did mini ride attractions for the tour such as Battlestar Galactica, King Kong and Earthquake. Around this time, they were looking into a full fledged theme park for Florida by 1990 and helped to ignite the transformation of USH from a show park into a new theme park setting. I feel that this decade was the park’s golden age but by 2000, the park began to put out dismal attractions and would last till about 2012 with Transformers and the parks 2nd golden age, i hope you guys enjoy.


1990:
American Tail expansion opens with American Tail Theater and Fievel's Playland and is the first attraction to open at both USH and USF simultaneously. These are also the first additions the park made in their transition to a theme park like USF.

Yes, same spot. There really wasn't much to it, Super Silly Fun Land packs a lot more into the same space.
