Wicked: The Experience coming to UOR

Since UGB has a no Orlando clone mandate, I wonder how they would tackle it for each resort. Maybe UOR gets something themed to Emerald City, while UGB gets something unique that pulls from the second movie

As for rides, some large scale family trackless ride with no height requirement. Maybe there can also be some carnival style flat rides too.

I'd guess Wicked will get either a hyped up show like Dragons in Epic, or more probably, a hybrid attraction like Potter & Monsters Epic received. I 'd guess Universal will shy away from a coaster or simulator for Orlando since they don't want to get too out of balance with attraction types like they've done in the past. Counting RRR replacement, three of the most recent D/E tickets have been coasters (Hagrid/Velocicoaster/RRR replacement). Only Bourne, which was an equal swap for a closed Terminator attraction was a non coaster. All the other stuff was just minor B/C type attractions (Villaincon/Dreamworks land).

I do think a really cool show is perfect but Woodbury's use of the word significant and also attraction(s) plural makes me think they are looking at something bigger (unless he simply meant an attraction at multiple parks)

I’m actually all for an “Escape from Oz” broom ride though. Now there’s actually some justification for a Kiamo Ko section.

And then hopefully they can upgrade it with the Conference of Birds for Son of a Witch.

Great scene but that takes place in broad daylight outside in Munchkin Village. I think that if they ever build a land based around Wicked that there will be more walk-through sets with dining and retail. An E ticket show is the obvious best choice for the marque attraction.....but not sure they want to do a theme park version of a legendary broadway production. I still think that there are only 3 obvious choices for rides......boat ride (Shiz), coaster (Flying Monkeys/Witches Castle) and "flying" ride (broomstick). I think that the big scenes that could translate into a dark ride are too spread out over multiple locations.....although I will admit that a ROTR style trackless ride could span multiple locations and might be the only doable dark ride that makes sense to traverse Munchkinland/Shiz/Witches Castle/Emerald City.

I would assume that "For Good" would make the more exciting attraction and "Wicked" is the village/queue area.

Yeah, the VR Brooms were tossed out (potentially twice) for a reason. Of all the scrapped ride ideas they could resurrect, that shouldn't be one of them.

I knew they’ve been trying to make Glinda and Elphaba appearances a regular part of the Wicked Experience, but my understanding is getting “approved” costumes delayed this until June…
