So my question is, will the Encanto ride actually be open in 2027, or will it just be part of the “Tropical Americas” land (carousel, dining). If this is an elaborate dark ride (Mystic Manor style) I don’t see them opening that in less than two years.

Some people think Encato could be an omnimover as well.

Maybe they could make the 2027 date with the Encanto ride. Remember Avengers Campus would have went up in that time if it weren't for COVID delays.

It would be a first for Disney to actually build an E-ticket on that kind of timeline. Does anyone know for sure what kind of attraction it will be?

Disney can build fast when they want to. If my timeline is somewhat correct, we should expect it to open Summer 2027. A 2.5year timeline for Encanto and 1.5 years for Indiana Jones is doable.

Not really, Disney can build things within 2-2.5 years... they just didn't have the motivation to under Chapek.

Infinity Defense and Stark Flight lab will also be for 2027 as well IMO, although if that date happened, it will be in large part due to Feige putting his foot down to make sure it they have it ready for Secret Wars.

Are we sure Encanto is an E-Ticket? I pictured something more akin to the Little Mermaid Adventure at California Adventure, which they got open in about 2.5 years.

Considering the lack of attractions at DAK, anything new is an E-ticket lol

The showbuilding is said to be very large.

But I think even a D-ticket (Little Mermaid-esque) with good capacity will be very helpful for the park.

It is funny how Tron and the EPCOT core have just permanently given Disney this “takes a million years to do anything” reputation

You're absolutely right, and as soon as I'm finished writing my review of my recent visit to Beastly Kingdom, covering breaking news about the bantha ride in Galaxy's Edge, and how cool the Quinnjet Avenger's ride is, I'll write a longer response about why I agree with you.

Fair, but I’d argue that’s a different matter. Construction timelines, rather than Disney needing to learn how to shut up.

I’m only clowning because I find these groundbreaking ceremonies to be incredibly cringe, but they should have flipped the shovel head around after painting them or maybe run to Home Depot …

"Mr. Iger, sir, we forgot to order the shovels for the painfully obvious pandering groundbreaking ceremony today! Our press photos and our optics will be completely ruined!"

"Send an intern to Lowes immediately!"

"They are all busy on Reddit defending our decision to turn the Rivers of America into Pixar Cars Land and writing copy to explain how any AI art we use for decoration in our flagship shops is strictly just for placeholder purposes!"

"...What can we get on Amazon with same day delivery?"

I agree to some extent, and while my comment was a light-hearted jab, Disney's reputation for taking a million years to do anything goes beyond construction, and even if it didn't, it's been pretty well earned over the best decade at the very least. Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy's Edge on both coasts was a complete disaster in terms of timelines due to construction issues, and Pandora wasn't exactly quick either. I'm just not holding my breath on this expansion.

The problem with Rise was that someone in Imagineering miscalculated badly resulting in the stuff that communicates with the trackless RVs being buried too deep, and they had to rip out the whole floor. This also contributes to the bad reputation trackless rides get. Considering how MMRR was in development around the same time, I wonder what happened there.

Pandora broke ground in 2014 and opened in 2017. This seems more like a traditional Disney land build timeline IMO. I am concerned on Avatar at DCA meeting its deadline for this five year timeline Josh laid out at D23. The project is contingent on the Eastern Gateway going through whether the land goes in Hollywoodland or the Simba lot, and a breaking ground date on the EGW seems nowhere in sight. Unless they setup a temporary bus hub, Avatar cannot break ground until EGW is finished. For reference the Pixar Pals structure took 18 months to complete.

Leftover from Chapek. Forcolid paid a 'Handsome Fee' for the advertisement. Gotta make every penny possible. ;) :nervous:
