I was thinking the same thing. Can be named "The Universal Express". A train ride taking you through the time of Universal Orlando resort or through many movies and scenes of Universal pictures. Having 3 or 4 floors with about 8 movies in which guest can get a short "Experience" of the movie that that group votes on. Something interactive such as characters, sound effects, lights, vehicle motion, etc. Then the train would do this on each floor in the section it goes through. Then IDK if this is possible but the train could interact on the outside as well. Possible going around the park and the lagoon to show progress and future developments so people get the full experience of Universal.

They knock down the Shrek building along with Lucy and rebuild that into a building similar to transformers but maybe even 1 or two stories taller.
Use that space and if they decide to do away with Mels, that space as well to do as needed. The queue could be pictures of rides, families, past experiences, etc.

Just a thought lol

You guys have some great ideas. I decided to finally join the forum.

It's a great idea. Overall they really should look into their properties to replace these attractions.

I'm very happy to hear Shrek is leaving. T2 is very 90's and could definitely use an upgrade so bravo to Universal for recognizing that and putting money toward great improvements. Pretty soon the only attraction I'll dislike is RRR. Things are looking damn cool for this park!

Considering the current lagoon show is going next year, I'd love a dark ride through some of the Universal classics.

True, Universal won't keep that show much longer. I think another dark ride/family ride could suit this park well. Correct me if im wrong but Universal is the only park with a lack of history throughout the park for guests and what not. I know it hasn't been here that long but it certainly has made the changes to the parks. I think it could be like that ball at Epcot or that ride at Hollywood studios that takes you through the stories.

I hope so. They have a really creative knack for space at Universal. But it would help me with the lost of my favorite rides (Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, Back to Future, Kong, Jaws). It doesn' t have to be all educational, but simply an experience to show guests how things have changed and let them interact with the park from a different way.

I also think it wouldn't be bad to include a "Florida" section of Universal. Florida deserves to have a Florida section. I'm tired of Hollywood everything in Florida, but I understand it's a branding thing.

Jaws and King Kong were rides everyone could ride, but they got replaced by coasters (as I'm sure you know).

Ok. So if you wanted to build a Florida section in the park celebrating Florida, what would you put in? I think Hollywood is a lot easier to brand, because of the movie business.

Because dedicating a section of a theme park to the state it's located in always works....

See DCA 1.0.

Yeah I was gonna say that, because what would you put in that section? What in Florida can be popular in a theme park? DCA is lucky that somethings in that park works in theme parks. Not everything is meant to be in theme parks.

Universal tried to compete with Disney directly for the "Family with children below ten" demographic, and they failed. They've licked their wounds, and gone after the young adult/family with teenagers market, and succeeded wildly.

Not saying this is true across the board, but you need only look at stroller parking at any Disney park compared to Universal.

I totally understand it's a branding thing. Just an Idea based off CFA just definitely not an entire park.

If I Did a Florida thing a few rides could be great:
A Journey through Space, representing KSC
A Ride called "High Tide" (River Boat)
A Ride Called "Shark Invasion" (Family Ride Recreation Of The Jaws Type)
A Ride Called "Gator Bait" (Log Fume/Coaster)
A Ride Called "Extreme Heat" (Thrill Coaster)
A Ride Called "Severe Thunderstorm" (Dark Ride)
Kiddy Ride named "Low Tide" (Kind of Like One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, except these arms would dip you in the water gently and out)
Kiddy Gliding Ride named "Flamingo Flyers"
Specifically Florida Related You know? make the Universal Florida more Unique. But ah, everybody is shooting it down so oh well :/

Just an idea because now they have so many "Universal Parks" it could be a neat, unique addition to the Florida studios. But California Adventure didn't work out because Disney made an entire , rushed park from it. Universal always seems to get things done right.

But one can dream right? LOL Thats why I enjoy RCT 3. What the theme parks can't/won't do allows people to come up with some great ideas!

How is it that they tried to compete with Disney directly for the "Family with children below ten" demographic?
For some reason it seems as though to me Universal has always branded itself as "Something for everyone" to enjoy type of park. No geared towards small children and not too much of a thrill factor for older humans, but more so here and there type of park for everyone to enjoy.
Must have been before my time huh?

Why theme a area of a park to an area that is close enough that people can experience the real thing without having to go any further then the park. The main reason DCA failed was not only the rushed design but because everything depicted in it was actually located within a few hours away, with many of the guests living in California there is no incentive to visit the park when you can see the real thing for free. The same thing applies for Florida and building anything themed on Florida. The only time theming a park to the area around it is USH and that is due to the fact it is the real deal and not copying anything.

The main things to theme rides on for Florida would be Miami, marshlands, storms and theme parks (yes a theme park themed as a theme park), and not one of these options makes sense for a theme park area, especially a park themed around movies.

It's just speculation. But I assume a dark ride(Please no 3D!) or a walk through.

To add to the Unique Culture where the park is located. But never to take away for the parks purpose (Riding Movies) . Just an addition. I think if California adventure had a section and not a full park it'd be more unique to Disneyland, you get where I'm coming from?

And whether it makes sense or not, anything fresh would be welcomed. Personally I understand where your coming from. For Instance. People go to Florida and get to experience "Hollywood". It's branding and for the mere fact maybe they can't make it to Hollywood but they can get a taste of it. Universal does a great job at letting people ride the movies which is why I think Harry Potter, and Other rides are popular! I see where you're coming from though!

Oh ok it's all pure speculation, got ya. A Dark ride would be nice. I agree, no more 3D. I always carry sanitizer with me at the theme parks because I never trust the 3D glasses.
