TFA was great (and #ReyIsBae), however i'm hoping the next few films will take on a bit more originality now that JJ has set it up. I don't want this trilogy to be a 30 years later rehash of the Original Trilogy. TFA was a very Star Wars movie, which is great. Great characters, great dialogue, vague details, etc. However, the movie had a lot (and I mean A LOT) of similarities to A New Hope.
While that doesn't bother me for Ep. 7, I don't want another Empire/Return of the Jedi. Many of those elements will likely be used, which is fine, but we need some originality too. If I see a variation on a Death Star in Episode 8 I may well walk out of the theater. There's only so many times you can do that. They've done it three times now and every time they've fairly easily gone in and hit a "weak spot" and blown the thing up. You'd think by now they'd build something that wouldn't blow up so easily (Especially when you consider the size of the Starkiller Base).
