The supposed positioning an Avengers ride basically right next to Spider-Man is intriguing, for that suggests a different sort of ride experience. They wouldn't want two similar(ish) rides in such close proximity, would they?

Then again, they're basically allowing that to happen in the Studios with Fallon right next to Minion Mayhem, so who knows? I would hope an Avengers ride wouldn't just be Spidey 3.0.

Wasn't it rumored that the Avengers dark ride would use the bench system? If that's the case, could it be a updated version of the ride system?

The Avengers rumor has been flying around for so long. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'd much rather get an Avengers ride than a SLoP ride tho

On the basis of my interest in the IPs alone, I'm totally with you (no interest in the SLOP film, big fan of Marvel). However, the rumors floating around about the potential SLOP ride describe exactly the sort of attraction I've been dying to see modern Universal tackle.

Hopefully we get both!

Something people need to remember: In 2015, all we got was Raptor Encounter.

I would not be surprised if 2018 was another year where we got something small, considering 2016-17 are bringing us Hulk, Kong, Sapphire, Fallon, Volcano, Cabana Bay Expansion, and F&F.

I would say that the only major thing for 2018 may be the WNW project. It would make some sense, but we'll see.

I suppose they could delay F&F until April 2018 and say they opened a new attraction that year as well. It is a few months delayed already after all.

I wonder how quick demolition will begin at WnW.

If Avengers do get a dark ride, I'm also in the boat that I think something interactive similar to MIB would be cool. I would honestly hope for no screens. Any opinions on screen saturation aside, it'd be weird for Spidey to have the more comic book style for its screens and a (presumably) more MCU-esque style for the Avengers one right next door. A mostly AA-focused dark ride could avert this.

They'd have to do something completely new and ground breaking with Spider-Man right next door. Would anyone mourn Dr. Doom if it had to go for this?

Might as well overlay Manta for an idea of a flying coaster in MSHI although it would remove part of Toon Lagoon and completely ruin the landscape in the process but Manta is an unusual layout so I'm sure a better use of the land could be done. Had to make the track red but selecting the blue from the trees has resulted in a weird pinky colour blending every where.

I'd rather see a dark ride or a hybrid than a coaster.

I think an Iron Man coaster could be cool, but only if heavily themed. Seriously, imagine a coaster with the detail and theming of Gringotts and Mummy, except suspended. The entrance to the show building can be a large Stark Tower, and the queue can be through the different iconic areas in it. The story could involve the riders getting in "Iron Man suits" (ride vehicles) and flying around to help defeat some bad guys. My one request would be a focus on AAs. Screens would be fine if they wanted some action-packed scenes, but I can't imagine an AA of something like Ultron-bots being that hard to create and it would add a lot.

I'm not sure if this extends to Universal or not since it's Disney using the Marvel rights in Hong Kong, but it's been said that they have a 5-year exclusivity over Iron Man for theme park use (which is why DCA was/is considering a Cap coaster instead of Iron Man).

Does anyone know if that affects Universal at all?

I don't think so. I honestly have no idea why they want Captain America for a coaster anyways.

That exclusivity makes me really curious. That exclusivity is completely separate from Universal's contract. In essence, it's Disney self-imposing that restriction upon itself. I would think that either the ride has a 5-year exclusive or the exclusivity is only in Asia (have to give people a reason to go to HK when Shanghai opens)

Bad idea. Still better than the idea of a shooting range in a Theme Park.

Because Cap is one of if not THE most popular Avengers (neck and neck btwn him and IronMan.)

Also, America.

I'm sorry my sarcasm wasn't detected, but by shooting range I meant one like the one in frontier land at MK.

Iron man is just a much better fit as a coaster IMO so strange to pick captain over him, yet we have a hulk coaster so who it really doesn't seem to matter much. Just seems strange to me.
