I don't think anyone is doubting it will be fun. But as I think about traversing the park in 2017, the only rides that won't be screen/3d based will be MIB, HRRR and (if they haven't demoed the thing) ET.

It's not even a screens argument for me anymore, it's just lack of diversity.

If every screen ride was the same, sure.

But many of them are very similar. Sure there's things that make most rides unique no doubt, but if Fallon is like DM/Simpsons, that's 3 similar rides and while not in the same park, there's the obvious Spidey/TF comparison which many people experience in the same day with 80%+ have 2 park passes.

Gringotts imo is the most unique. it takes cue's from Mummy/TF, but blends them together to create a great experience. All of these rides are great and I love riding them, I just wish there was slightly more practical effects mixed in with the screens. Again it's taking nothing away from the rides as almost all that I mentioned are more advanced than anything WDW has done since ToT.

I agree with you. It has always been about diversity for me too.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, but complaining that Gringotts, Transformers, and F&F are too similar is like complaining Pirates, Mansion, and Mermaid are too similar.

And that's all I'll say on the matter.

I don't necessarily agree. I think physical sets plays a big difference, case and point: Dinosaur and IJA are identical track layouts, yet IJA is undoubtedly better and you can't even really tell the track is the same.

It's all in how you utilize not only the ride system, but what people are looking at around it.

Ehh, IJA is better themed but Dinosaur has a much better ride vehicle and ride profile. Went on a trip with Disneyland junkies who would go every week a couple weeks and this is subjective so probably not everyone feels this way but they all preferred Dinosaur over IJA mainly as its dark and actually jerky and feels how an adventure ride should be compared to Indy.

I actually hope they use a powerful motion base for this ride to make people feel motion and as if we are speeding rather than just using screens and fans.

But that's a personal preference.

At end of day, all 3 rides @JungleSkip listed are different. Screens may be medium's focal point, but they offer different experiences.

Okay? And people are looking at different things in Transformers and Gringotts too, whether you want to admit it or not.

Anyone who prefers Dinosaur to IJA needs to have their head examined, though I'd say the same thing about anyone who prefers Transformers over Spidey

I prefer set based rides, yes. However I still love UOR. I just sort of wish that there was more of a varied experience. I think it has less to do with the screens actually and more to do with so many of the rides have the same general plot. I think that's the big difference i've been trying to figure out for myself.

Which is fair. Even before screens, that was the main plot point of their rides - the whole "Something wrong happens, run for your life" type of deal.

Fallon won't be that though.

Ride & live the movies are Universal. Movies are on Screens. Therefore, Screens at Universal is kind of a natural during a Universal discussion. :)

This is very true and better to have reliable screens than unreliable and unbelievable animotronics

also some things are just impossible to do without screens and making it reliable but yes going to universal is just like watching a movie in theaters except your in it

If you read back in this thread. Some people "who are in the know" have stated, this is pretty much a clone from the Universal Hollywood ride with a big queue. If it is indeed just that, what a bummer right. BTW welcome to the forum.

Wow I'll be really upset if that's all they can come up with but I read somewhere I think that it will have an original story line because the Hollywood version is cool for a tram tour but for its own attraction they have to go all out with this one I would think
