I was very happy to not see his name there.

Yeah, he gets his films to crank out millions upon millions but I hate what he sacrifices for that.

Is Train Dragon currently licensed to any other park?

Do we know when the Madagascar contract ends with Sea World or is Uni just going to let that expire?

Fun Fact: Dreamwork Classic owns and manages some 3,000 family properties such as Lassie, Casper the Friendly Ghost, the Lone Ranger and Rocky and Bullwinkle. It is the third-largest comicbook rights holder after Marvel and DC.

I would love to see meet and greets with some of the classic characters.

Huh. Universal isn't going the Disney route of having all animation being run under a single entity. It did absolute wonders for them. Disney Animation is on a serious creative roll and Pixar...well, the had Inside Out, so they more than have potential still.

I'd love for DWA to intermingle more with Illumination. DWA at their best far exceeds Illumination.

I wish wish wish Universal would produce a musical animated movie. Uni just stays away from musical anything and yet it sells like hot cakes.

I read something a long time ago on a blog that I found interesting:

Basically, there's almost never a wholly original movie musical. Every musical is either based on some fairy tale (Disney) or a Broadway musical. The only example this article could come up with as a counter-example is "La La Land," which comes out later this year.

Part of the reason why Meledandri isn't going to be over both is Illumination and their works are stuck in France while Dreamworks will be operating on their campus in the state. The co-presidents of Dreamworks Animation have really turned the company around since they were hired which Donna really was happy about. Also Dreamworks will be teaming up with Universal Animation Studios to work on TV shows which would also not work well with Meledandri as he has no television experience...

Your wish is coming true with produced by Illumination....coming 2018 with music by Tim Minchin with the voices of Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman, and Hugh Jackman if I remember correctly based off a Rock N Roll Koala band.

I believe it has expired. The shows were discontinued in all their parks and the remaining merchandise is being sold off cheap.

Universal has a wholly original movie musical live action coming out I think in 2019 with music by Alan Menken and starring Josh Gad.

While not an animated musical with *original* songs, they are dipping their toes into that territory with the upcoming Sing, an animated jukebox musical from Illumination.

Really? I swear that sounds like a Disney movie (Alan Menken + Josh Gad).

I'm sure I was missing quite a few examples. But, more than not, I feel like that's accurate.

Theme Park Insider says all of the big DreamWorks IPs are free and clear to be used at the domestic parks.

Love that pic with all the characters. Hope they make it to the parks soon and I'd expect some character breakfasts should be getting some upgrades soon.
