I think it’s referring to Chinese technology companies, but I may be wrong.

Chinese technology companies and multinationals with independent operations in China. Mainly to avoid a Wanda/Legendary situation where one man thinks he is more powerful than the government.

There seems to be an issue of the plot, that from the sounds of it; is seeking to be remedied ASAP.

Since entering the autumn and winter, the city continuous fire and various types of accidents, the security situation is grim. In order to prevent the occurrence of various safety accidents, effectively carry out work safety in the beginning and the beginning of the year, and further implement the "Circular on Carrying out 40 days of Major Investigation and Clearance for Large-scale Safe Hidden Trouble Remedy" Tourism area quickly implemented, to carry out a series of special operations.

Cultural Tourism Zone Zhang Baoguo, deputy director of the Commission led the key units in the park for safety hazards and dust control large investigation, cleaning up, rectification work.

Cultural tourism zone safety inspection team divided into several lines of horses daily in the park to carry out carpet safety hazards investigation, construction projects within the investigation, construction projects have to investigate.

On November 27, the Cultural Tourism Zone Administrative Committee established joint law enforcement inspection teams with a number of law enforcement agencies such as the District Safety Supervision Bureau, the Construction and Construction Commission, the Urban Management Committee, the Environmental Protection Bureau, the Municipal City Appearance Management Committee and the Construction and Management Department. On the east of the Metro Line 7 Extension of construction projects raided. Inspection found that individual project site distribution box wiring is not in place, large lifting and lifting operations do not meet the operating procedures, on-site immediately ordered to stop rectification.

On November 28, the Cultural Tourism Zone Administrative Committee held an interview with the unit in charge of the unit that found problems in the joint inspection with the District Safety Supervision Bureau. The District Safety Supervision Bureau conducted administrative penalties on the above units. The management committee asked the above units to rectify immediately, and give top priority to others. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the sense of responsibility of the main body of safety production, and supervisory units should earnestly perform the duties of supervision.

Zhao Jun, party secretary and director of the Cultural and Tourist Zone Management Committee, stressed that safety in production is a vital event in life and lives, is related to the stability of the family, enterprises and society. All units should strictly observe the safety red line and make safety work the first priority. In particular, it is necessary to raise the political level and actively study and implement the spirit of the 19 th National Party Congress. We should work together with ease-remediation to promote and enhance safe production so as to firmly keep hidden dangers and enhance people's sense of security.

Zhao Jun requirements, big investigation of security risks big clean-up and remediation of dust control work to move quickly, the responsibility to implement the staff at all levels, a detailed record of the ledger, so that the investigation is traceable, full coverage, no dead ends Do not tolerate any potential safety hazard, make concerted efforts to create a safe park.

Another positive for the Universal park: China 2017 Box Office Wrap-Up: Hollywood Movies Grab $3.4 Billion, Universal Rules

China is enjoying Universal's IPs which may lead to positive results when parks open.

With as big as F&F is there, I wonder if they are getting a copy of what the US parks have.

Just hopefully without any reliance on screens. Since it's a new park, they should use the opportunity to make the F&F much more innovative.

Seems wise to design much of the park attractions to Chinese interests & culture. A big difference from Disney's concept of transplanting their MK parks with only superficial nods to local culture.

It's a big concern considering Universal treated its own IPs as nothing more for 3d simulator screens whereas they treat its external IPs as the main priority, and this seems to be a growing trend for Universal. Harry Potter is still at the hands of Warner Bros. and JK Rowling, and Mario and his pals and other Nintendo-created characters are still at the hands of Nintendo. There's no doubt Beijing will have the most high-tech rides, but we also should never forget how Universal treat its own IPs lately.

Barely anyone in the world knows what SLOP is, it's not even that good nor as popular as the Minions. I think Universal should capitalize the Minions with a dark ride instead of a 3d screen ride that the company is treating its own IPs lately. Simulator rides are something people get sick of easily due to the effects.

I don't even think Universal knew how big DM would be...The popularity didn't go truly nuts until the ride was already open...

I think Universal wishes they would have done a dark ride

This gives me hope for an attraction based on Journey to the West which is probably one of the greatest stories ever told.

It'll be interesting to watch this for clues of how Uni will proceed with the South Property. While it won't be exact, there will be similarities.

It doesn't look like they're gonna finish the whole thing by 2020. Probably around 2021 at the very least.

The plan wasn't to finish the entire resort by 2020. Just the opening phase which is one park, two hotels and a shopping center.

If they were to announce today that they were going to open the southern Plot with a park, two hotels, and CItiwalk in 2020, I'd be highly skeptical. Granted, China has different rules.

The absolute last completion date for Phase 1 is probably Feb 2022.

Meaning as long as everything is up and running 6-8 months before Beijing Olympics they'll be happy.

Delays are not a big deal as long as they don't threaten that date.

It's same as Nintendo wanting a movie and SNW at USJ ready for Japan's 2020 Olympics.

Quick note: Universal sold out of Oriental DreamWorks so their content likely won't be appearing in the park.
