Did Universal Extend my Pass For Free?

So about this time last year I got a Annual Pass. After a few months in my wallet, the ink had faded almost completely, so I got it replaced. The weird thing is, on my pass it now says that it expires 1 year after the date I got it replaced, rather than the first day I used it. According to an email I got It's now past the date when my pass should've expired, and I'm wondering if I can still use it. Has anyone had this happen to them? I could just go to Universal, but considering that it's a 1 1/2 hour metro ride each way, I'd rather not if there's no chance. Thanks in advance!

This has occurred more than once, and no, the new date is not valid. The old date is still intact despite what the reprinted pass says.
