Clearing is now past the fire station! They also have cleared the side of the escalator closest to the Simpson’s ride pretty much confirming the ride will go over or under the escalator..

I was going to ask if they hired The Onceler, but if he was hired he'd be slacking considering there are still a few more trees to go.

Honestly after seeing the site first hand yesterday I think there is literally no way this is a 2024 attraction.

And if they’re on the Disney timeline it’ll be 2027…. Going on year 3 to renovate a fake treehouse….

Coasters are a pretty quick build, even in "challenging" locations.

They have done an insane amount of work in the 6 months they have been working on this.....heck they even did as much as they did during a year with lots of rain

Also it's a late 2024 ride and it's a coaster that wont have themeing like Big Thunder or Matterhorn

Velocicoaster had construction walls in Jan 2019 and first rides in Jan 2021 with a may 2021 soft open while COVID was in the middle. Also fast and furious is a brand where a warehouse with props would be the theming like Orlando and take little time to set up. Does universal even have much space for an elaborate queue even if they wanted one? Sea world is reconfiguring the penguin area for a new coaster next year on less time. I think universal can do this.

Well California has more regulations than Florida does but at the same time, the biggest work will be building the station. Once the footers are down, the essentially just have to piece together the tracks, which shouldn’t take a long time.

I still think a January 2025 opening is the most likely scenario. Nov/Dec 2024 seems optimistic but it could be done if they book it.

Higher regulations, infastructure reinforcements for the entire area/valley, additional grading and infastructure redoing we haven't seen yet; alongside setting up and ensuring a prototype Thrill-MDC can be capable of doing the things it is being set out to do. Ontop, of additional theming that may or may not be present.

I would be shocked if this was ready before February 2025.

Would like to add a little bit further, so my apologies for the DP. I think what defines F&F, and why I think we are going to get more theming than people expect; is because of the potential that comes via 2 things.

The Low to The Ground Turns and embankments (alongside the positionals of the MDC trains as guests are positioned)
and
The Theming of the sound tunnels, in how they are dressed and prepared as if to muffle sound as god forbid possible.

I am not thinking this will require them to make something like the Velocicoaster Mountains we saw at Orlando; where articulate and elaborate rockwork defines the skyline and encounters of the first half. But rather, playing similar to Six Flags New England's Bizzaro/Ride of Steel, having backdrops and simplistic (if generic) sets that can compensate and give the feeling of racing within a cityscape.

Or if we want to go further, having us feel as if we are close to roads as in the Tokyo Drift hill drift sequence.

With this coaster being positioned to be able to emulate and simulate that sensation; I think there is a unique opportunity to allow a simplistic immersion design to be a core factor of how you define and let the thrill of the passengers come from a potential 3 car train system (assuming we are going to stick with the initial artwork for how many cars will be on each train). Especially if they make some proper tunneling in play here. I can easily see the dive loop being one area where that could be achieved.

You will absolutely get the Los Angeles warehouse vibes we have seen from Supercharged. But I genuinely think there is more of a chance that we might see some fun stuff with how the terrain of the mountainside works here. If only to solidify and make this, the ultimate terrain coaster in NA.

(I also think there is more to the first launch than some may think; as it looks like there is space for a very small show scene that could be in place from the permits. Can be wrong on that; but it feels like something that can work).

So that is gauged by the amount of posts you make. Once you hit 1K, then the title shifts and changes.

Was at the park yesterday, really blown away by how much this is already changing the look and feel. Coming out of Hoggsmead to nothing but a construction wall and sky was so weird.

The construction site is massive.

Appologies for double posting but I wanted to add some pics just to show the weird exit from Hoggsmead View:
thumbnail_IMG_7952.jpg

....and the massive construction site. The workers doing the land work have balls, they were driving diggers so close to the edge of the hill and on steep inclines that I thought they were gonna go over the edge. I didn't get a pic but from the tour you could see them digging some kind of trench/foundation under the starway for the turn around/dive under (I assume).
I took a video too but too big to post on here.
