Plot twist: It’s not new. We just never got to stay late enough to see it take place.

Just wanted to say thanks for the insights in this thread! Was able to hop on the coaster as soon as I walked in the park at 2pm with my HHN combo ticket. I think maybe the ride had been closed for a little while and had just re-opened because the line was SO SHORT. Did single rider and we essentially walked on, like no joke. Instantly went back for another round. Took a break and came back later and did the regular queue so we could see what it was like and even that only took like an hour (a little over). So three rides total.

This isn't the review thread so I won't say much other than I loved it! Nothing like a brand new coaster, smooth as silk. Thanks again all.

Since they can move the cars....I hope next year they move them so we can have a Gauntlet here as well like over on French Street

Also if they are not using the front storethey used for Wicked then Fan Fest....Gauntlet

Love mini mazes so you have something to do when everything is at 60 mins

I was so confused for a moment, I thought you were talking about a gauntlet themed to F&F. Which in hindsight, yeah I kinda wanna see Vin Diesel popping out and scaring guests during HHN

But in all reality, they'd never make a gauntlet right where the cars are.

I agree. It'd take away attention from the ride mural, the exit or entrance would intersect with the bathroom potentially and the entrance of the ride itself.

Not to mention that entire thoroughfare is one of many congestion nightmare points already... trying to crowbar in something like a gauntlet there would just make it astronomically worse than it already can be.

So I live in Toluca Lake and for the last week or so when I take my dog for walks around the neighborhood I’ve noticed this woman just chilling in her car on Valley Spring (the road at the back of the neighborhood right next to the golf course) with a large sound recording device. She’s there for like an hour or 2 each day. I can’t tell if she just likes the sound of nature or if she’s trying to collect “evidence” of the coaster noise/screams.

As an actual resident, what’s your opinion on the noise?

Personally, I’m not bothered by it. I can’t hear it when I’m inside my place. Now with that said… you absolutely can hear the screams echoing all around the neighborhood when you’re outside. Sometimes it’s faint and other times it is much louder than you would expect. But again, I’m fine with it. There are bigger things for me to be annoyed about in this world than a rollercoaster.

For anyone wondering how HHN Express works for those with special F&F privileges:
Pick up at Dreamworks, as we know. You need to have the e-mail open where they sent that said you specifically can ride, I want to say they sent sometime in early August. Then you move along and someone else checks I believe the same e-mail. You move further on and someone scans your Express ticket and you get a receipt printout with a barcode that you need to keep safe and not ruin, as they can not and will not give you another one. They say try to get to the ride by 9:30pm, with it being fully closed by 10pm. This entire Dreamworks process took less than 5 minutes and barely anyone was there when we went right when Early Access opened up at 5pm, but the place was fully staffed with about 2 e-mail checkers and 4 receipt givers. We didn't want to hit the ride first, instead wanted to hit a few mazes and then come back, so we returned to the ride at 6:30pm.

When you arrive to F&F, I believe all they want is the receipt, I don't think they checked the Express ticket or the e-mail. They take the receipt, so you can only ride one time. The line was small, maybe literally 3 switchbacks after the lockers, but it still took legit 35 minutes. The ride seems very slow loading. At the time I went, around 6:30pm, absolutely nobody was going on and we were the very last people in the queue for the entire time. Why nobody came after us is beyond me, as I don't believe they closed the line -- it's possible, I just don't know though, and I saw the ride running throughout the night, but never necessarily saw anyone else going in.

Unfortunately, I did not get to ride, as I was too big and they won't push down on the lap bars even though they said I was very close. Such is life though, but my friends had a great time, so that's all that matters to me and I thought I'd bestow the info of this process to anyone else trying to go and wondering how it works. Not necessarily sure what the process will be once the ride opens on the 16th, but my assumption is it won't be open to HHN guests and the Express situation and if you bought your ticket early will stay the same.

Its just not open during HHN times

It will be open during the day like other rides and close before the event starts

Dang, that's a bummer. Was planning on hitting up HHN half way through October and was excited to ride it.

I find it really strange that none of the main actors from the franchise were present at the opening like they were for Supercharged's opening ceremony on both coasts. Especially Vin since this franchise is literally his own personal child at this point. Wonder if something's going on behind the scenes which may also be the culprit as to why there's no scenes of the actors playing on the TV's in the queue...
