Deadline is reporting that Oscar Issac will be taking on the role of Solid Snake, in the adaption of the iconic Konami series: Metal Gear Solid.

Metal Gear Solid will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, and written by Derek Connolly. No production start-date has happened--however it will be made with Sony Pictures.

Weird, I was thinking about an MGS movie the other day.

Easily my favourite game series of all time and MGS2 gets more relevant every year.

Isaac is a great choice I never thought about it. Will he also play Liquid or is that too obvious?

I think MGS would maybe be better served as a 3 part mini series, however.

I've always considered The Rock to be the closest thing to an MGS movie.
