Spam Popups?

Over the past few days on mobile I've been experiencing those popup "You won a prize!" messages where you have to close your tab tp resolve the issue. It's something I haven't experienced before and I didn't see any other threads about it so I thought I'd let you guys know...

Also are you on home wifi? Someimes free public wifi inserts ads into pages.

JoeCamel - for my phone I use Lookout security and it's not showing me anything at the moment. Not sure if it's the best program though, not really familiar with mobile antivirus software.

Joe - I've experienced it both at home and out and about, so it could be somewhat from public wifi but I've specifically noticed it around my house.

I wonder if it's connected to the problem I used to have on mobile where the ad would insert itself into the reply box, and I'd have to type blind.

It's not us. Try using another checker, but I have seen a few people mention the Facebook app could be also be source.

I think Malware Bytes is about as good as you can get. It is free so don't pay

That's certainly possible because the popup always takes me away from IU and onto a fake Facebook landing page. I'll look into a new malware checker as well.

Yes I was having the same issue on mobile and emailed @Brian G. The solution I found/figured out is to delete browser history and cache/website data. Worked for me so far :thumbsup:

It happens on my iPad. I clear my browser history all the time but it keeps coming back. It doesn’t happen on other sites.

We've had this issue before and we'll work on it again. There are several others sites I see this with on mobile (Slashfilm is one).

Which is odd because it only happened on my iPhone and my iPad was fine, so that’s why I thought it was device specific.

I think it might be one of your ad servers. It stopped when they were down for a time.

Odd. I blocked all games, gambling, and casino type ads. I’ll give a look see.

That looks like a flat out malware ploy.

Yea this happened to me yesterday and again just right now.
