Even at that low they probably still played hard ball knowing the potential value of their IP.

One can only imagine what demands they could’ve brought to the table these days.

They were riding high on the GameBoy at the time and while it didn’t sell close to the competition the N64 was still profitable. The 3DS/Wii U era was the first time the company as a whole was losing a significant amount of money and not just making less profit if I recall correctly.

The Virtual Boy was a failure, but nowhere near the scale that Wii U was

The success of Nintendo has got to have Disney at least a little bit worried.

Adding SNW/Epic 2 years after the success of SMB is going to be HUGE.

Mario is the only character that rivals Mickey Mouse. That’s all you need to know.

Wouldn't this justify LoZ could fit the EU plot better than LOTR and LOTR fits IOA better?

No. LOTR is still the bigger property

Yeah, given this I’d say give Zelda lost continent and give LOTR a new ground-up land at epic so they can really go blue sky and build whatever they want

Well, I think both will be ground up builds. I’d be surprised if anything other than Mythos’s kitchen survives in LC.

Universal hasn't done retrofits for ride systems since 2012 so I expect everything to go. *

Simpsons, Jurassic World, Dreamworks Theater, and Despicable Me are the only ones I can think of. They don’t seem too big on the retheme game which is good.

This makes me wonder just how much of LC will be repurposed vs torn down. I expect Poseidon (maybe minus the facade fingers crossed) and Sindbad to be leveled, but I wonder if they’ll reuse the paths, shops, and restaurants of LC. It will need some heavy rebranding, but a lot of it seems too valuable to level completely.

Rumored for DreamWorks Land at USF, replacing Woody's Nuthouse Coaster.

In case anyone was still unsure about just how big LoZ is as a property.

Assuming they make this 2-3 levels to maximize space, a true E ticket, keep Mythos level quality or even up it, Zelda has potential to be best land on opening day at Universal Orlando if done properly imo. This property is a creative’s fever dream.

Boat. Not. Boat ride.
