I think it might have to do with the positioning of the sun and the parking garage walls kinda towering over that spot.

It's not that bad, depending on the night. I've been lucky with it being very faint & nearly unnoticeable

TCM is where the awful scent just lingers throughout the entire house

Dang so things have changed lol. Last time I did TCM it was only the last half of the house that smelt absolutely rancid, so now the whole house smells THAT bad????

Not as bad in the beginning. I think I really smelled it the most in middle near the face-removal scene. It's a 1-trip house for me because i don't want to relive it

Was watching POVs of both this year's and 2017's Beyond Maze and once you leave the vomit room, walk towards the next red door, and hit "The Bride in Black"'s VERY small scene, everything is one-to-one with the 2017 version. Small changes for sure (and the jail cell hallways now have a scrim effect) but that's quite odd, hmm, not really actually, it's Hollywood lol.
Can't say which I like better yet but 2017 still holds the title for the Scariest house I've ever done even if this one still has the dread and scares that iteration did.

I find this year's to be scarier than 2015 & 2017. Of course, I only say that because the only run-throughs I've had of this house were at the end of the night completely alone with every boohole filled.

I just wish the waittime would drop so I can enjoy the traumatizing experience it is again! *sigh*

I do it first thing and can attest that's probably true (for 2017 at least, 2015 is the one maze that year I missed.) As much as it annoys me that it's so similar to 2017's, it's what that maze *should* have been had it not suffered so heavily from Last Key reliance and a lacking budget, so I can't truly complain. It just feels longer and more consistently scare-dense, can only say I've seen empty spots in the multi-scare finale and even then it's usually no more than 2 people missing, so you still get like 3 others.

This year's Insidious house was pretty good....but this is how I would rank our Insidious houses:

1. 2015 (Still one of my favorites to this day!)

2. 2024

3. 2013

4. 2017

I need to pull up a video & look at my 2015 pics to remember that year's house.

In my defense, I was working LAHH that year so ONLY got to go to HHN the final 2(?) nights (one being the "after party" addition)

I have a slightly re-arranged ranking.
1. 2015 - Adding in Chapter 3 worked really well. Biggest gripe is Chapter 3 should've been first because it's a prequel.
2. 2013 - This was the first time encountering it at HHN and wasn't sure how they were going to pull it off, so it was very frightening.
3. 2024 - Best of everything, but that makes the maze more action packed, while the older mazes had a creepier tone with a bit more moments of silence to build dread.
4. 2017 - Solo movie on the second to worst sequel. It had some moments and was overall decent for HHN, but not quite the caliber I was expecting after the first two mazes.

It's not the house that's haunted. You are.

Damn, so both Insidious houses (Orlando and Hollywood, thats a first lol) won HOTY!!! That's crazy. I don't think Hollywood's version was as good as Orlando's, however the scare actors were phenomenal and they matched the same level of intensity as Orlando. Congrats to the cast/designers!!!

I completely agree with the outcome. I thought it was by far the best house this year. How does HOTY work? Is it based strictly on attendee surveys? Or are there other factors?

Not surprised

The EA people push you towards that house everynight

People seemed to like it, but I think the real winner is Dead Exposure, No IP and was not pen during EA and I saw that thing had a line most the times I went

Personally, I feel like that award should’ve gone to Dead Exposure, but not surprising Insidious got it. Thats especially since the EA ops kept pushing that house like crazy. Cast was great though so I’m glad they have been recognized!

Is this the first time in HHN history that the same house won HOTY on both coasts?

No surprise, that Insidious is often named the best and most creative HHN house of this year.
