Interesting to bring up, but @Legacy has actually been specifically clear in there not really being anything on Universal Monsters for both coasts right now.

Once again, Horror Unleashed opens in August and Epic Universe with Dark Universe opens in May. I imagine UDX wants to prioritize that of the Universal Monsters this year to be rooted with the element of the "Permament Installations" above that of a HHN space (Additionally, there are more options this year in horror, in the general sense).

I genuinely think Slash is doing Terrifier or Scarecrow (but specifically Terrifier, with Orlando having Ice Nine Kills for the score of the house).

Omg guys... come on. It's literally the most obvious clue on the map. The Scream franchise features Ghostface and is produced by SPYGLASS. How are you guys going to say it's Conjuring or whatever other IP when it's so obviously Scream?

I mean, it is a clue with a spyglass investigating and looking at a ghost. Perhaps not taking it on a literal element (much like when you talked about the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire facade not being at H-Lot North) might not be a bad idea?

I once again think Insidious's GSATS would want them to have a major paranormal IP as part of the event roster; if only because of the lines generated from both Insidious houses (and the rave responses from both coasts iterations).

I think the spyglass with the ghost could actually be Conjuring instead. With the next film coming out during HHN time this year and the films being all about investigating ghosts/demons, it makes the most sense. Yes, it's a WB property but we've gotta also remember that Blumhouse now has a piece of the pie as well...

See and I am going to throw it out, because I think I agree with @ladiesman217 on The Conjuring; I think the film reel is actually Scream.

I think Scream as a franchise has something unique that warrants itself to be easily adaptable for the context of the Halloween Horror Nights event. In that--the Scream Franchise has a franchise within the franchise. I think the film reel is meant to mimic that of the "Stab" franchise; as we know that has been a part of the Scream series since Scream 2 (and it has enough to where you could actually go at it on making a Original-IP).

I also think out of the two franchises on the Spec Map, Terrifier and Scream feel the most ripe for Original-IP treatments. In the case of Scream, a Chucky: Ultimate Kill Count inspired house with Roger Jackson doing custom voiceover feels like it'd be a massive win. You could combine elements from the majority of the franchise, but also focus in on a set of specific films; and no-one would be none the wiser.

Also think it helps reinvigorate the Scream Franchise, if you do something that celebrates the franchise as a whole (and allows you to discreetly acknowledge Scream 5 and 6 without having the Carpenter's Duology take the focus).

I'm just fascinated by the unknown IP. I'm assuming that's going to be the Hollywood exclusive, I wonder what it's going to be

In my haste thoughts I confused it with something else and I was headstrong in that; and then I remembered the Grim Stitch leak.

a Scarecrow 2 that focuses more on the decay of industrialization of farmland would be a banger concept; if they do that. I'm just glad overall the Scarecrows and Crowz are our equivalent to Knott's Green Witch.

Considering HHN Early Entry had the dumb cattle pen strategy last year among the horrible T-Pad tactics for Texas; unironically FNAF in T-Pad is par for the course (and I'd expect it would be *much worse* than Texas's operations as a result of the IP).

I think that when talking about the spec map, we should be careful with the locations. It happens almost every year, we get spec maps this early on with the speculated properties and usually, the properties are somewhat correct while their speculated locations are not. Remember last year when AQP was thought to be going in the ROTM extended queue? Or when GB was thought to be going in UBE? The point is, locations are almost never right this early on. I honestly see FNAF going into Soundstage 15 just because it'd be the biggest IP of the year and while I'd much rather have Fallout there just so we could get some massive sets (hopefully), the big headliner usually gets that spot. But I also see FNAF working out in T-pad.. or even H-lot possibly... I guess we'll just have to wait and see how everything works out.

I think Fallout is going to stay where it is. I mentioned it on the 34 Thread, will mention it here; but I do think it is the "Stranger Things" of the event to a point of where the audience for the IP will need to warrant that of a venue like that.

(*honestly I don't rule out Fallout in SS12, because of the space gained from that of the venue being the largest on the lot either*). I think overall it makes sense, especially considering just how popular the show was and as @HydraGen2299 talked with me about--the TV screens and sound design being a potential proponent to help set a atmosphere to the house.

The Weeknd and Stranger Things to an extent flourish with this; because I think the best way I describe SS15 is the "Party Venue". Set it with the right IP that can have music, and I think it becomes a bop venue that flourishes in activity as a result. I also think Fallout in either of the big soundstages (or UBE) would allow them to not compromise on scale either.

Terrifier feels like it'd be a solid "Tent" house for locations. I don't think you need to have a large amount of space in it, and to focus more on the intensity of Art's actions and his "Actions" as a actor.

As for Scream in UBE? Ordinarily I'd say a slasher house doesn't really *need* UBE or a soundstage, but Scream is a very unique IP to where I almost kind of jokingly wonder if Universal is taking no chances with either coast, and is keeping those houses in venues where it'd be "Defcon Red Security" to prevent leaks (and to not anger Paramount/Spyglass). Considering Scream's...candid history with HHN; I actually don't rule it out a single bit (same goes for SS22 in Orlando).

(I'd personally think both FNAF + Fallout are "Stranger Things" level IP's that if combined together for the event, would absolutely shatter and break our Hollywood event if they are both at the event this year. Just one of the IP's is a large get, but both of them at the same time...is something dangerous on a capacity level.)

(It's kind of why I wonder if they considered the nuclear option because they know they have to get people back; even if this becomes a moment of absolute ***overkill***).

I don't think you have any idea just how massive FNAF is. The fan base is HUGE and definitely bigger than Terrifier's or Scream's. Let's take a look at the box office numbers for the franchises. The most Terrifier made was $87M. The most Scream ever made for a singular film was $173M for the first film. The FNAF film made $297M. Apart from that, couple in the massive reputation the franchise has made for itself with the dozen or so games it's had and the massive fan base, not only within adults, but within kids as well and yeah, it's a big franchise. Scream has been around for a while and is probably more 'iconic' than FNAF but as for which has a bigger fanbase at the moment, FNAF definitely takes the cake. Plus, just look at the comments on announcement posts from last year on HHN's Instagram or Twitter. Most commenter's are just talking about FNAF left and right more than any other property. Point is, it's BIG and it's probably going to rack up the longest lines if it does make it to the event this year.

With the event's target demographic, absolutely. FNAF absolutely exploded in popularity in the 2010s, and is seen as a nostalgic property for many young adults now.

Scream is an evergreen classic slasher property. While I think it would be a bigger deal to the dedicated horror/HHN community than FNAF, I think FNAF would be a bigger draw to the general public as a whole.

While Terrifier has seen a significant growth in popularity lately, it doesn't quite have the legacy or nostalgia factor of the other two. It's also a bit more niche due to its excessive gore, which creates a higher barrier of entry compared to other horror films.

I think FNAF in T-Pad isn't necessarily a bad call. Depending on if they raise the height of the tent ala' Ghostbusters 2019, and reconfigure the layout to be kind of similar to Insidious/AWIL (with the way the perimeter fences are setup for T-Pad this year I actually think this might be something that could be happening for layout orientation), I can actually see how this might work.

Of-course, it would mean you are going to have to completely redo the queue flow to make it able to withstand that of the FNAF IP, plus it puts two of your biggest IP's right next to eachother in a very dangerous way; but I don't think it is impossible nor unrealistic to see how it could work. It'd just be a nightmare.

Honestly my big hold up is that it effectively makes a corner of the park that of "Video Game IP's"; to a element that feels unneccessarily weird.

I wouldn't be shocked if FNAF took Chucky's spot and was the Effect House of H-Lot.

Personally I can't wait for the "Inside Universal" house to happen...

Horror Night Nightmares got theirs in Orlando in 2004. So I'll wait patiently...

Man this thread exploded. Geez.

I’m gonna have to agree that the ghost in the spyglass is Scream. C’mon everyone. Okham’s razor.

I understand locations are usually not correct, but if that film strip is implying what I think it is, Hollywood’s version of Slaughter Sinema? TWDA would be PERFECT for that concept because that indoor hallway at the beginning could easily be transformers into a movie theater lobby (Which I hope they do if this is true)

Also THREE originals in one year? I’m down! I guess they know the IPs they will have will be big enough to where they don’t “have” to have another IP.

The film strip is also on Orlando's map, so it is most likely hinting at an IP.
