Even being a reskin, I'm sure there are some curveballs they could throw in here.

Instead of the musion effect- maybe some AAs of Doc/Marty?

'IF' they would do a complete change refurb with BTTF. I think using a live actor Doc for the preshow would give the attraction
extra credibility, even though it's not the real Doc. from the movies. Just like the excellent Grinches in the M&G and Grinchmas
give the show and M&G credibility even though the actors aren't really Jim Carey.
The more I think of this the more I think it could work.

As great an idea as a live Doc impersonator for a ride pre-show is, they won’t do it. Casting that many Docs (they’d have to go from 3 to 12 at a minimum) is too difficult, especially when the pre-show folks are not part of Entertainment—they’re part of rides.

I say this to emphasize that people should not get their hopes up for the idea, practically.

Good point, that's a lot. But they basically did something similar with Disaster (ironically the same piece of land) when they had that stage pre show.

They’d have to make it an entertainment position and cast it through that process. You almost certainly wouldn’t have enough adequate Docs to fill a reliable roster, though. The result would be a preshow with many obviously subpar Doc Brown performers.

If he appears, it’ll be a combination of VO or maybe a CGI recreation achieved in a similar manner to the trio’s appearance on Gringotts - CGI, from a distance, and brief.

I've heard Godzilla come up in conversation several times for IPs wanted for USF... But a part of me thinks FNAF could be interesting to put into the Supercharged space...

Godzilla? FNAF? First I've heard anyone mention either as more than just straight wish listing. I'd LOVE a Godzilla attraction. But I don't think either fits the Supercharged ride system at all. Maybe Godzilla if they mimic Skull Island and rely more heavily on pre-shows and atmospheric anticipation before the ride portion, but I think without a decent sized animatronic ala Kong, that just feels like wasted potential.

I'm perfectly fine with a CGI Doc/Marty for a preshow. Once the ride starts and gets to the musion scene, having a physical Delorean and Marty/Doc AA would suffice I think!

This and one or two more physical scenes (a la Reign of Kong) would make this attraction that much more pleasant. I’m all for a BTTF overlay, but not if it means a 1:1 swap. Learn their lessons, apply new technology, and make this a great experience even though the “ride” portion is lacking.

In terms of what they can do to "plus" the ride experience:
  • I don't believe there is space available for them to install an animatronic figure where Kong would be. Unless they modify it significantly, I don't see them putting on at the unload corner.
  • Practical elements inside the 360 scene (show pieces on kuka arms on both sides to simulate a race/chase, with Biff on one side and Marty on the other? Based on Ministry/Unchained, they love putting practical elements on a Kuka in front of a screen)
  • They can slow/stop the vehicle in the existing city alley scene with additional animatronics and practical effects?

I do think you can make a decent attraction out of the existing ride system... just needs to go heavy on the practical side.

You seem to know a bit more about the space - do you think it'd be possible to do a physical Delorean and AAs where the current musion scene is?

So here is my idea:
This is a big building and the entrance is going to be a small cinema in Chicago 1906, The White Front Theatre opened by Carl Laemmle.
The queue houses the start and growth of Carl's Universal Studios.
After that we enter a ride vehicle that goes trough Universal Classic Movies including Jaws and Back to the future. Each movie has a scene where somethings happens like in Earthquake and Jaws (from the studio tour in California, but better) so this movie tour will be a stop and go experience that could take a good 20 minutes. It's 'll have a simulator portion for BttF and many special effects. In the store at the end Universal proudly on their past and nostalgia as trailers from their current movies play on cinema posters in the merch store.

As long as you go in and out with the Huey Lewis theme tune playing I can forgive a lot….

They could if they wanted to. Instead of two separate musion scenes, you could try to combined the space into one large scene. (To reduce the need of having multiple AAs). Just not sure if there's any load-bearing walls/supports in between.

I think the soundtrack alone will benefit the ride tremendously. The BTTF score playing throughout the queue, preshow, and ride experience (hopefully a Hill Valley land as well) will fix a lot on its own. I once rode FF with the BTTF theme & ride soundtrack playing on my headphones (just to see if keeping the ride system is ok)... it works.

I just looked this up-- I never realized the Foot Locker by where I grew up was once the birthplace of Universal! I haven't been back in a bit, but I think it's since been torn down for high rise apartments.

This had me thinking... has there ever been a themed area based on Chicago? The only thing that's coming to mind is the gangster scene from Great Movie Ride. I can think of so many areas based around New York and California. Where's the midwest representation?
