Maybe explorations and behind the scenes, like we saw Imagineers drafting art for Cars and driving dune buggies. Not so much hard info.

My guess.

Hopefully this will give us a hint of what the E ticket dark ride for Villains will be. Trackless, Infinity Defense SCOOP type system?

Wouldn't be shocked if we see a full land get greenlit in the near future. Before anyone says it wouldn't happen because of Zoogether already being in Tree of Life, mind you we have a Frozen show in DHS then the ride in Epcot (and assuming it stays as per current rumor, MILF in MK then a whole land in DHS).

That is depressing to think about. I really, really don’t want this. I don’t want AK to be compromised of its rich theming. Sigh.

Please leave Animal Kingdom alone. I doesn't need this. I also hate when parks have IPs split up into various non-connected areas like Star Wars over at DHS

100% agree on leaving AK alone….what does scare me about this possibility is that this is literally the only successful IP Disney has had theatrically lately. It will seem foolish to the bean counters to not do this.

Because it IS foolish to not do this. It should go into Magic Kingdom or DHS though.

Yeah, it feels like this is the kind of result that'll lead to something getting fast-tracked. Ideally, the land would be the best fit at DHS, but the anchor ride was clearly made for parks which don't have Runaway Railway, so it would be interesting to see the general reaction to that.

Either way, this series is big and the creators obviously have plans for a 3rd. (If I recall they actually wanted to work on 2 and 3 together on one point, so they're ready to go.) And unlike Moana where it feels like the ride keeps getting pushed around, they've already got a land developed and built, all you gotta' do is make the space for it and put the money down.

I'm not a fan of Zootopia, but I would have imagined it was earmarked for Animation Courtyard. They could have gotten away with a scaled-down version of the land from Shanghai (heck, could have based it on a film studio in Zootoopia).

Unfortunately, it seems like DAK will still need something else beyond Tropical Americas, and there's plenty of open land available behind Asia.

My notion is Moana is now earmarked for Animation Courtyard after the rumored MK boat ride was pulled the last minute from the D23 2024 slate.

DHS needs a large scale water or boat ride and its the perfect opportunity to bring the Shanghai Pirates tech to WDW.

I’ve always felt Zootopia feels more MK to me oddly. This was before Cars and Villains were confirmed though. I’m not sure it can fit anywhere (don’t really know expansion availability at MK) but that works best imo. Just vibes wise it feels more whimsical which fits into a lot of MK attractions for me.

It absolutely does not belong in Animal Kingdom, whatsoever, though.

Magic Kingdom has a lot of space to play with.

Yellow is Villains/Cars land construction. Lighter red is unused land that requires very little transformation to the area. Darker red are existing areas (Jungle Cruise/Speedway) that, controversially, can be better utilized.

Not mentioned are attraction spaces like Monsters, Inc. and Stitch that can be worked on.

What happened to the rumors that Moana was taking that (clear red) plot behind pirates, next to Jungle Cruise?

It seems like the plan now is to possibly add a hotel there (or integrated to a new area).

It would be pretty funny that after all these years of hoping for more expansion at one of my favorite theme parks (Animal Kingdom) they finally pull the trigger by including a couple of IP I absolutely loathe (Encanto, Zootopia).

I think the Swiss Family Treehouse* plot directly north of your Jungle Cruise shading here could probably yield a site large enough for a decent-sized attraction with a little redevelopment, as well.

* My Swiss grandmother would not be pleased to see me advocate for such a thing, though!
