I’m if the mindset that, if I can’t catch an effect or scare at least 50% of the time, it’s a badly designed effect/scare and Universal messed up with it.

Adding to this, it’s disappointing when you see too much of a scare. At least 80-90% of the time, I see a scare happen ahead of my group, and it’s totally spoiled for me. Call it hyper-aware ADHD brain or just conga lines. We move so slowly through the house and scares are constantly running, almost every scare is spoiled for me in some way or another. Sometimes I see the full scare or just the end of it with the actor resetting. But I’m rarely caught off guard. I try to tune out what’s ahead but the more I do that, the less I enjoy/remember the house. So I’ve stopped trying to do that and I enjoy the houses much more this way. I don’t ever expect to be caught off guard, and so when it does happen, it’s much more impactful.

You aren’t overpaying, you’re underpaying. If you don’t like the value you’ll get from a properly priced frequent fear ticket + single night express tickets… fair enough! Go ahead and find something else to spend your money on.

We are getting caught up in semantics here. One person thinks they are underpaying because they don't agree with the price point, while another thinks they are overpaying because they are only using a fraction of what is alloted to them. Both can be correct, even though I lean to agree with the latter.
Especially since out of towners are also shelling out big $$ for hotels and travel.
Maybe you should need an on-site hotel stay for each night you use express from a multi ticket, way to complicated though.

Fraction of what? Scares in a house?

Universal's desire to drive ticket sales in the 2000s and early 2010s finally caught up to them. In 2010 Frequent Fear w/ Express was $155, in 2015 it was $235, in 2020 2021 it was $460, and last year it was $839. This ticket really is a victim of the event's success.

And it’s still underpriced. They need to jack up UFF+ w/ express to the cost of a Private RIP tour $4,500-$5,500 to really bring it in line with its value.

Any truth to that? Or will they announce the IP’s one by one until mid July, then dump all the originals in one mega announcement along with multi-night tickets like they did with HHN 32?

As others have mentioned, there's nothing indicating there's going to be a week of announcements for the originals. You're just jumping to conclusions again.

Then they should fix the ops so that the one and only time I’m allowed to go through the house is as perfect as the advertising, the hype, and the price state that it will be. No empty boo holes, no mistimed scares, no broken effects. Make my mandated one-time experience so mind-blowingly flawless that I would have no regrets about never seeing such perfection again.

This argument that people shouldn’t go through houses multiple times is honestly nonsense. Do the folks that have that opinion do the same for other entertainment? Don’t see your favorite movie more than once - someone else needs that seat in the theater. Internet problems streaming your favorite band’s latest album? Tough titties that internet capacity is needed to let someone else have a chance to listen.

If I purchase a multinight ticket and only go 5-7 nights out of the ~20 that I’m allotted universal should be thanking me for overpaying.

I'm just reeling over the fact that we're allowed to say "tough titties" on here.

You really need to understand the difference between “shouldn’t” and “don’t need to.” No one is saying they “shouldn’t be able to.” That statement implies Universal must actively restrict the number of times guests can go through. What they ARE saying is that Universal allowing unrestricted access to Express is clogging operations and should stop. They’re saying that the cost value of multiple nights with Express is too low. That is hard to argue. Because the Rush of Fear with Express last year was $700… that’s the equivalent of less than three nights admission with Express (so… if you go 5-7 nights of your possible 20 nights… you are still UNDERpaying. You’re so welcome).

Now, my statement that “you don’t need to to go through a house more than twice” allows the freedom of choice. I don’t need to eat a whole sheet cake, but I can. I also don’t need to rewatch a movie or replay a game or reread a book. But I can. But my dietician and my wife tell me I shouldn’t eat a whole sheet cake. That’s the difference.

Like I mentioned on a previous post, 2 nights with express this year will cost me $634.

UFF + Express last year was $1,200.

That thing should be over 3 grand lol

In regards to @Parkscope Joe 's post - idk if they indicated anything like that, but given we have 4 originals left, it WOULD make sense to do original week starting Tuesday after the holiday..

For whatever it is worth for the discussion I am in the camp of I am an out of towner who visits the last week of October with about 6 event nights and it has always been a better deal to get FFP+ with Express. The gap between buying the multi night pass with Express and a la carte is closing and not as significant however it is still a better deal and obviously I can put money down for it the second tickets are available but if we don’t know if multi night with Express is an option while a la carte tickets slowly start to increase that is my problem. I know when I am going to HHN every year and to help my budgeting I am happy to make as many payments as early as possible. Has it increased significantly? No. But no one is unaware how expensive everything is and wanna make every dollar count so if FFP+ with Express isn’t available I wanna know ASAP so I can make arrangements and purchases at the best price possible. I have been fortunate to get the FFP+ with Express last two years and am hopeful to get it again this year but with it being up in the air it is an unfortunate situation.

Two thoughts (and this isn't me disagreeing, just giving the lay of the corporate land):

1) Universal seems terrified "there's a ceiling," to quote Brian from a year or two ago. HHN is their golden goose, and they appear convinced one price hike too many will bring the whole thing crashing down. Personally, I disagree -- HHN has become every bit the lifestyle brand Disney is, and I see what the Mouse can get away with down I-4. But Universal doesn't seem to think that way. Compare with their apparent reticence, based on that leaked survey, to triple to cost of an AP even if it includes EU. They seem to know their customers are more value-conscious (even if I don't think the hard-core HHN fans are anymore).

2) Related to that last point, even a $3,500 UFFP+X would sell out 500 tickets before opening night. Double that if they let them. Maybe not within 15 minutes, but I doubt more than 48 hours. Product of our K-shaped economy and the weird obsessiveness HHN breeds.
