An E-ticket based on HP that doesn't take place in Hogwarts and trumps the KUKA arms? Doubtful. Highly doubtful.

I'm assuming they are a great deal further along with the design of Potter 2 than with Avatar. I'd think they'd take advantage of the 3 year gap between Fantasyland and Avatar. Sneak in around 2015 and then enjoy a year of lack of competition. Then when people come to actually see Avatar, you are open and ready to go for the folks that might want to swing by and check out the expansion.

I actually laughed out loud at that comment. But I think this may delay it further or just before avatar opens

chance of pushing forward seems like an obvious decision for Universal...they could capitalize on the announcement by announcing a new expansion to Potter in 2015

Yes I can tell you firsthand that the Harry Potter phase two plans are stunning! The E-ticket will beat Forbidden Journey. Now if we can just get Warner Brothers and J.K. to agree and greenlight Orlando will be well on its way to a theme park revolution

Interesting. I honestly wasn't even expecting a E-Ticket or anything that could beat Forbidden Journey. I would've been happy with a solid C or D but Universal doesn't really work that way.

I don't think they need to announce anything soon though. They should enjoy HHN and the holidays and keep hyping Despicable Me and Spider-Man for now.

This is what I have been hearing for months... Although designs and ideas have been being worked on for some time... it means nothing until these are presented in toto and gain approval. This goes on and on and on. "Yes you can show us your ideas" does not mean "yes, you can expand it". While I do not know, I would assume we are at least a 6-months to a year from contracts being signed and all of the legal mumbo ironed out, or if it ever will be. The fact that they are at least open to the presentations tells us something.

I'm sure it'll be announced in tantem with the Transformers upgrade, similar to how they did with HRRR and HP being announced so close to each other.

They want to focus on the Mini Golf, DM, and Spidey for now and then announce their next wave soon.

I hope it is conceived close to Avatar so that the the War of Expansions leads them to continue upstaging each other until all the usable land is filled and they are forced into making all new parks :)

So...if this happens I'll have my big pile of crow ready to eat, because I thought there was no way in hell Uni would do this. But...

For what it's worth...

Using a ride to transport guests to Pandora may be the best way to accomplish the task.

But...if Disney wants to go that route...they might oughta hurry.
The park up the road is thinking along the same line for a little future magic.

Looks like they may be looking into some sort of transition ride, which I still think is a TERRIBLE idea. If it happens, which I pray it doesn't, I hope they pull it off well.

This is from Lee, a respectable poster that has good inside information. I've met him before, and he doesn't make this stuff up. The post comes from a site I read but no longer post on.

^The idea would certainly fit from a story perspective. I could imagine a Hogwarts Express ride that could be used to transport guests from King's Cross/Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade. In execution, however....this would be a capacity nightmare. Just about the only way I could think of it working would be to have a second walking path and make the ride optional.

Exactly. Storywise it makes a ton of sense.

Operationally it makes no sense.

I wonder if JK will demand more of a percentage if they expand. Now that Univerasal know just how popular the park is, they have much less of a bargaining chip. Negotiaions will probably go on for months...

Ugh. This could be true. Well, the expansion is probably so far away at this point that it doesn't even really matter. :'( What's a few months more if it isn't gonna be expanded for 4+ years?

I'm greedy. I just want a Disney sized theme park ALLLLLL for Harry Potter. One can dream.

I remember seeing a while back about a patent that Universal filed for just recently. It was really interesting. I've looked for it, but I can't find it. I'll see if I can explain it.

It was for a special piece of track that could be placed on a moving platform. So let's say you're on a roller coaster track, traveling through some show scenes like the first half of Mummy. Then, your vehicle rode onto a piece of track that was attached to a platform on a bus bar. Your vehicle locks onto that track, and the platform starts moving along it's own busbar section. The platform has hydraulics under it, so you can bounce around similar to Spiderman, all the while your vehicle is still locked on a piece of coaster track. You could pass through screens, other show scenes, anything really. Then the platform stops and the track you're on aligns with another piece of coaster track, and your vehicle unlocks and rolls onto the other track, possible onto a high speed roller coaster portion.

Hope that made sense!

^ I think that was found to be quite old in the end, can't remember what it was meant to be for though.

There have been new rumblings. Teebin have you heard that the holdup could be JKR demanding a larger footprint? Too large for IoA alone? I'll leave it to JungleSkip to elaborate.
