Back when Michael Jackson was envisioning a Neverland theme park, the grand entrance to the park was to be a replica of famous London architecture:

I think Uni could pull that off.

Along with these Dr Who suggestions, I think a Sherlock Holmes ride could potentially be amazing. Just thought of it last night watching Game of Shadows.

But I digress, I wouldn't vote for a mini Eye either. It wouldn't look attractive and from the top (unless it was REALLY small) you'd see a lot of show building roofs and backstage etc.

I think the only rides were seeing in London/Diagon Alley will all be only Potter related....

That would be incredible. We at least know we're getting Kings Cross St. Pancras.

Yes, but I think, in the future, we could see FFL added onto the London area. Was hoping for a James Bond attraction, but then I realized Universal has Bourne, sadly.

Landscaping is currently being removed behind the walls next to Sinbad.

I'm excited to see this happen, and I'm kinda hoping the rush with 609 (SS44) was so construction could begin on both 609 and 722 simultaneously.

Actually, each project is being handled by separate national companies and have no bearing on one another. I have already stated that 44 is being rushed to put a larger expenditure on the books for 2012. At least that is part of the reason why.

Once we know what the project is, I'd be interested in hearing the other reasons why 44 was so rushed.

I was more just covering my ass JS. There may be other things that I simply do not know about. The only other reason is the commonly known fact that Comcast is turning up the volume on the parks bigtime.

That concept art really gives us a great visual of what Universal is probably going to build with their London area. It just ocurred to me that Univeral is getting a new country before Epcot's World Showcase. How sad is that for Disney?

Sorry for that. I love Disney, and that certainly was a cheap shot. It's just that I've been thinking of the expansion as simply being 'potter'. But when I saw that Neverland concept art and looked at how much space they are using along the waterfront, it finally ocurred to me that Universal is creating something far greater than a potter expansion. They are creating something that could fit quite nicely into World Showcase.

Do realize that I only posted that concept art as reference from how an unmade park was planning a London area. That is no guarantee as to how Uni's will stack up.

Yup. Can't wait until we get it!

I honestly didn't actually realize we'd be getting concept art at some point until, like, two weeks ago when I changed by wallpaper back to WWoHP concept art, and now I'm just about as excited for that as I am for vertical construction to begin.

This is the primary reason I want an announcement asap, since we all know some of the basics already.

I think we will be well into vertical construction before we get an announcement. I am not banking on an announcement until Feb of next year, or even fall of 2013.

Let me revise this a bit...

I think Universal will make the announcement when it will be most beneficial to them. Here is the criteria I think fits.

1. Will allow for the fewest delays in trips to the Universal Orlando Resort
2. Will result in the MOST delays to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Remember Universal Orlando wants to prevent people from delaying their trips to the UOR. However, if they can hurt Disney by making people delay their trips to Orlando to wait for WWoHP 2.0 to be completed, then I think they would take advantage of an opportunity like that.

Universal Orlando's marketing team is a whole different beast post Potter. They have tightened and shortened their announcement windows and secrecy is reigning supreme.

I have a feeling Universal is going to focus on Halloween marketing, and once that's done or wrapping up, we may see an announcement.

For those of you that may be new here or missed some posts, I am reposting a 3D render of the new buildings and streets of Diagon that are to come. This cgi is based on outlines that were mistakenly posted by the Florida Management District. Note that this is flat topped only because I cannot know the kind of slanted roofs each facade will have. The left of center street is Diagon Alley which leads to Gringotts which connects to the show building (light blue). Far left top is the train station building. Use a bit of imagination and you will see it.
