Sure. You really don't want it to be too much where it drives away people who aren't fans of the franchise yet takes up a significant chunk of your park when you could be using a different IP/land/ride in an area to appeal to others.

You mean like Harry Potter? :P

Please do not over-think the trolley. I was referring to the high in the sky trolley ride at Seuss. The "adult" part was referring to something that WDW has had for years. While it works there historically, it would be a step backwards for Uni to do a literal translation.

Once I heard I thought the same thing but again that's my thoughts based on Disney's aged and overloaded system.

If they did do Charlier and the Chocolate Factory, I would like to have a ride way more than a walk through show. Also, pump in chocolate smell!

I'm praying to J.K Rowling that Middle Earth comes to Universal. I can't even imagine what insanely ground-breaking E-Ticket they would do with that!

Also, if there is an Elijah Wood animatronic in it, I'll likely get thrown out of the park for doing naughty things to it. :look:

TMI badL. Yeeesh.

Ok, what one element from Tolkien's LOTR do you think would satisfy the world of Tolkien lovers as a themed attraction? What one place in the books time? I argue that there is not one that would satisfy all.

I have a hard time drawing up a LoTR attraction. There's plenty of epic moments but nothing jumps out to me in a way where I'm like "That HAS to be a ride".

In terms of place-making, I think that fans would be satisfied if they could at least step inside both the Shire and Rivvendale.

I think the ride itself should be a journey in which we visit all the other areas of Middle Earth. It could be set at the beginning of the first book: trouble is brewing in Middle Earth, and Frodo has yet to start his journey. The framing device of the ride could be Gandalf enlisting us to go on a scouting mission for him in preparation of Frodo's journey. We go on a thrilling tour of Middle Earth on one of the giant Eagles from Misty Mountain, climaxing in a confrontation with Orcs at Mordor?

Yeah there are too many characters/locations/stories going on at once to focus on one specific thing. It would have to be all encompassing and I'm not sure how they could pull it off. That's probably why I'm not making a living designing these things.

I honestly think it'd be best to base a prospective Middle Earth off the Hobbit. Its storybook nature lends itself to a ride much more easily than the LOTR books.

-The area around the theater becomes The Shire with lots of green and food. Toon lagoon theater becomes a walkthrough of Bag End.

-The main shopping area of TL becomes Rivendell

-Sweethaven/Bilgerat becomes Lake Town and a barrel ride like the escape in the Hobbit.\

-Demolish Dudley and transform it into a Lonely Mountain attraction.

A Forbidden Journey type ride themed to LOTR would be AMAZING! Or at least some sort of major Dark Ride should be the first attraction! Also I love LOTR but I really do not want them to get rid of Toon Lagoon. I truly do love TL and always have so much fun on Popeye and Dudley. I hope if LOTR ever does come to Universal then maybe it could be located somewhere else?

Ive always pictured something like Mt Doom in the parks and envisioned it would sort of resemble Mount Prometheus at Disney Sea

Only problem with Mount Doom is nothing really happens there other than the forging of the Ring and the destruction of the Ring.
