It's 2013. Why are they still using that whole tournament tent theming?

While I see your point, regardless of what year it is, Fantasyland is still sit in this kind of fantasy-based medieval period, so the theming holds true to that.

What I'm mainly referring to is that Disneyland got rid of their tent-look and added much more elaborate facades over 30 years ago, and yet MK's Fantasyland still seems to be stuck in the past for the most part (not including the whole Fantasy Forest area).

Even though it's never going to happen under the current management, I do believe they need to give a large theming overhaul to everything in Fantasyland that's inside the walls.

I wasn't aware of the Disneyland overhaul, so I apologize. Either way, I would like to see some money put into a Tomorrowland overhaul before Fantasyland. But as you mentioned, we are unlikely to see either one materialize.

I agree with this 100%. With the amount of time and money being thrown into this project, why they chose not to update the "old" Fantasyland is baffling. Even though this FLE is moving at a glacial pace, the areas already open look fantastic. When I went a few months ago I was very impressed with the Tangled, Beauty & the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Storybook Circus areas. The themeing was very well done. Which upsets me as to why they didn't spend the time and update "old" Fantasyland. A new, better themed facade/queue for Small World and Peter Pan is too much to ask?

I'm just gonna chime in and ask are we supposed to believe that Prince Eric, in addition to being Prince and presumably heir to a kingdom, is also a food cart proprietor?
They couldn't have used Scuttle or the crab or Flounder or something else?
Also I don't suppose we'd ever see a seafood restaurant in the area, huh?

I agree. It's a very awkward and forced name. I would've called it Scuttle's Snack Shanty or Sebastian's Seafood Shack (and they could've served Jamaican food! Jerk chicken, saltfish, beef patties!)

I like Scuttle's. I wouldn't call it Sebastian's if selling seafood

Is the name confirmed to be Prince Eric's? If so, I too agree that it's a poor choice. How about: King Triton's Treats?

The 2 Neverending Florida Construction projects:

1.) I-95 through Jacksonville has been "Under Construction" since before Christ was born.
2.) I believe they broke ground on the FLE expansion the year my Princess #1 was born (1996) and They both (My #1 and the FLE) will finish next year (Class o' 2014!!!!). I feel like such a proud Papa.

So the new meet and greet opens In a few weeks! I wonder if we will see a turnout like Potter.

People don't come from around the world to Disney because they've heard news of a new expansion. They go because it's Disney.

Universal has yet to reach that status, but Disney definitely has and has been for quite some time now. People are never going to stop going to Disney World. And while us theme park aficionados are disappointed with the things TDO has been adding to the parks, there is already a massive amount of things to do for the regular park guest that they'll enjoy.

^^^^^Sure, but repeat visitors will get fed up with the same old offerings at inflated prices.

I'm probably going to caned for saying this but I'm confident in saying they already are frustrated. I talked with another respected member here while enjoying a few Duff's at the Gardens and we both agree something is up with those inflated Disney attendance numbers :look:

I don't know that there is something Disney is hiding more than their reporting might not be the best. I little birdy told me there is a new project surrounding financial reporting and streamlining it. So TDO might see an issue too.

I honestly really didn't care enough to listen to the call where they were talking about attendance, but did they report attendance was up or paid attendance was up?

One thing to keep in mind is passholders, they obviously do count as paid attendance, but with something new in MK obviously you'll see higher attendance without any extra $. But the more interesting one to me is cast members. They have been giving away hotel stays left and right for MM+ testing. So hotel occupancy is up (not paid occupancy, but occupancy) and obviously to test those bands the cast members have to get out in the park.... and to fully test the bands they have to load them with free park tickets (CMs not using their ID/main gate as that obviously wound't test the system).

Which is probably like 1% of the park's attendance, and the average guest won't listen to that, most of them probably enter Florida and go "We're in Disney World!"

Yep, I know of employees who have been selected several times for the free stays and it is not just them, but they get to invite family and friends and several of them too.
