I don't like the games, but I accept their existence. However, there is no world in which the island is better with "Hammod's Hotshots" in it. That game specifically is cringe worthy.

I saw the games in person today (at least the signs). Personally, I like the signs and the theming of the them (of what I could see at least). Jurassic Park is such a big land, that I don't think these games will negatively effect the island as a whole. I'm just glad The Lost Continent games are going.

Now the Toon Lagoon games... Those are bad.

The tone of JP is going to be changing with this expansion to more closely resemble the "Jurassic Park" from the book. The John Hammond in the book was a little less "lofty" than the one in the movie.

Could you go into more detail with what you mean by this?

Also, I'm willing to bet its changes reflect the open park in "Jurassic World".

No, I get it, I read the book. The book focuses a lot more on the theme park aspect of the place while the movie is all about stuff going way wrong. I guess I can dig it because IOA being based on literature is a cool theme. Can I dig the fact that the whole "tone" of the land is about to change with signs lining the pathway that have dinosaurs shooting hoops? Not really, but I suppose I can get used to it. In the end, the main attraction remains the same and a the splashdown/Thunderfalls area is still beautiful.

However, I don't think this was made in relation to the new movie...I think these are separate projects.

Again you are changing what I said, if your just going to make stuff up to "prove" I am wrong there is no point.

Profit is profit, I have no clue how you can disagree with that?

I'm not disagreeing with that or making stuff up, but there is a solid argument against the games that a lot of people have and "profit" isn't a good enough reason to sway that opinion. No need to get upset buddy, just defending the opposite opinion.

I don't really mind the idea of the games...but I think that in the end, regardless of if JP is a theme park or not, it had a very specific atmosphere going for it. It's supposed to be a bit ominous and mysterious, and I think the games ruin that a bit. Seeing the traditional JP logo replaced by a dinosaur shooting a basket just kinda ruins the atmosphere JP had going for it in my opinion. Regardless, I do understand that they are a necessary evil, and as much as I really do have to admit that besides the Hammonds HotShots, the structures and signage could be worse.

I agree with this 100%.
Weren't they moved because Rowling didn't want them so close to get precious potter?
If that is the case people have to acknowledge that even she isn't their biggest fan!!!

The only jurassic park I know is the one from the movies.
It seemed tranquil, with lush plants exotic animals almost like a national park....
Not with these monstrosities of games.... To me they are just as out of place in JP as they would be if they put them in Hogsmead, but we all know there'd be hell to pay if they did.

Having said that the burger bars and drink stands never bothered me in JP and they certainly weren't in the movie... I don't know why but these just rub me up the wrong way.... I honestly think I'd rather pay an extra $15 to get in and not have them anywhere in the park.... They don't resonate to me with the new universal Comcast is trying yo build... It's that old cliche of them being a "six flags" thing!

Agreed... I'm counting down until the day Comcast brings in the wrecking ball for the TL theater/games area

No problem. It just gets a little frustrating when you stretch what I say into something else, and then prove that wrong. There is no way to express differences of opinion with someone setting up a straw man argument.

When I said the profit was more "abstract" I meant it affects the park more indirectly. So there is probably a lot of points we agree on here. I also do not like the games, and do not play them. But the point that I was making is the fact that it is an added fee is not the strongest argument against the games. As long as the included attractions justify the ticket price, I do not see a problem with them having a few things with added fees. I am happy that the added fees are for things that I would not do anyways.

If the Theme Parky look of these games have got you guys spinnin', you're gonna look like tea cups before they get through with this expansion.

"Welcome to Jurassic World"

I am actually wonder IF the expansion and the new movie project really are all that separated. I guarantee the same guy is approving the park plans and the movie script. What's his name again? Stephen something? I'll remember here in a second.

Anyway, I remember them talking about how The Three Broomsticks in the park was designed first and then the one for the later/last movies was designed to look like the one in the park. I'm in no way saying that that would happen with JP. But I wouldn't be surprised if some of the visual design elements end up cross pollenating.

Spielberg!!!!! That's his name. I knew I would remember.

Very interesting! I'd love to see some cross over, in my opinion it would just create an even better feeling of immersion.
PS Spielberg? Isn't that the guy who did that shark movie? I think it was "Fins."

No, no... Spielberg is behind that little loveable alien in need of help getting back home, I think it is called "Mac and Me" You probably remember the scene where the boy and alien fly in front of the moon.

Interesting, I assumed they were going hand in hand. Are they changing the name to Jurassic World though? =/

Also, spinning rides in JP? Yuck, yuck and yuck. I want more themed, dark rides. =/

I think the park as a whole could do with more flat rides to be honest

Hmm... For variety, ok, but up to a point. I would always go with a dark ride or more thrilling attraction than a spinner. I would be alright with two spinners in each park, but no more, and then those two must be excellently themed, make sense for where they are, and only be there for the fact that they have a small footprint and they'd go where another ride couldn't have fit. Basically only as filler, additional attractions where another bigger and better attraction can't fit.

Pretty sure DH was only mentioning a spinner in reference to people losing it over the look of the games.

And I have no info about this but I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of flat ride included to give the area that Theme Parky kinetic energy.

I know I would like to see some other highly themed flat ride come before another spinner.
