Can guarantee right now this ride won't see past 2015. Way too many problems to keep it up.

As much as I love this ride, I agree with this statement. I honestly can't see this ride going past next year if these incidents keep up. I'm actually kind of afraid to ride it when I go to HHN. Don't want this happening to me.

Universal Studios Florida: 12 Trapped on Rip Ride Rockit

Around a dozen people were trapped at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, according to reports on Wednesday evening. Park officials said it will take several hours to get them down.

The were stuck in midair on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and Tom Shroeder with Universal Orlando told ClickOrlando that it will take two to three hours to rescue them.

He said staff are doing “everything they can to make the guests comfortable.”

Fire crews were deployed to rescue the customers.

According to WFTV, a computer glitch forced the ride into safety mode and stopped it.

The riders were in the vertical position, but not upside down.

As of 8:10 p.m., the customers were trapped on the ride for more than an hour.

Introduced in 2009, the Rip Ride Rocket has a max height of 167 feet and can reach speeds of 65 miles per hour.

I know the 'tear it down' movement is annoying, but please tear it down. For reals.

This ride just won't stop giving them trouble... It's problem after problem after problem after problem... When is enough enough? [HASHTAG]#TearItDown[/HASHTAG] and build something reliable there already.

Rip Ride Rockit: Riders trapped at top of Universal Studios thrill ride

It is supposed to be something that is all fun and enjoyable and thrilling, but sitting suspended high in the air is no-one's idea of exciting. The Rip Ride Rockit attraction at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL is stuck at the top of the first incline according to WESH on Oct. 9, 2013.

The incident with the attraction happened late in the evening around 7:00 p.m. ET. By the time the situation had been reported by WESH, ten guests had already been trapped up at the top of the ride for close to an hour.

This would not be the first time that the steel roller coaster has experienced problems, though.

Back in mid-2012, Rip Ride Rockit was shut down for over the course of a month. It was closed due to a roller coaster manufacturer issuing a warning about the safety bars on the ride. Apparently, they weren't up to par and not deemed safe or in perfect working order.

In Aug. of 2013, a guests at Universal Studios suffered a small injury on Rip Ride Rockit. After this situation, the attraction was shut down for a couple of days.

This latest incident is surely going to have safety inspectors checking out the attraction again. More than likely, Universal Studios will also be looking closer at the Rip Ride Rockit to determine what its future should be.

Looks like everyone is off now and techs are looking at it now. Anyone know if it was something caused by the new RV's or if it was something else?

Imagine... If they were allowed to keep the original lift design they could just back the trains down the lift...

You would think a station in Central Florida like 13 would have someone on staff who actually knows something about the parks and rides they cover, especially for things like this...oh hey, they do, someone on this forum! Too bad they probably don't care to have anyone they care to put on air that actually knows something about these situations.

It is hardly the apocalypse scenario they're trying to make it seem like on 13. It is unfortunate, and because of the block one occupancy, they couldn't advance it, and it seems to have taken a little longer to winch it to the crest of the lift than they like, and they didn't get their battery pack up there quickly either.
