It's only one side of the mountain.

I am genuinely impressed with how (one side of the mountain) turned out looks real good. Can't wait to see the finished product and to ride this beast

Even though universal is building great stuff, this is what they lack, specifically Universal Studios. An attraction/environment that is open and people can feel the enjoyment from a ride without actually having to ride it. Many rides in WDW are built like this, splash mountain, thunder mountain, test track, Seven Dwarfs, Everest, etc. It gives it like a "park" atmosphere. I feel excited when I see people having fun like in IOA, Popeyes. That positive energy radiates onto the paths.

But its not just the ride but the foliage and trees. For example, I love the path between the Simpsons and Hollywood Boulevard. I think now with Diagon alley, they have to find an IP that involves nature to balance out the parks themeing. Too many tall building environments (New York, San Francisco, Diagon, Hollywood)

I agree with the concept of more natural atmosphere. It's a major reason I enjoy sitting & relaxing in Central Park (Studios) and Jurassic Park & the Popeye walkway on the lagoon (IOA). I'd like to see the MIB expansion pad (if ever developed) or a Kids Zone redo with a more natural setting with trees & foliage.

It will be dropped. However this will be after the Kidzone redo, which is after IOA expansion, maybe including TL (post 2017-2018. Unless they decide to do a 2 for 1 and do TL and KZ at the same time, we are probably 8-9 years away from the initial development

You can see how much they sway towards the end.

They will sway a lot more once people are in them. That's just kinda basic physics.

This was posted on a Disney Facebook group: "Big News! We finally have a bit of information regarding the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom. Media outlets have received "Save The Date" invitations to a media "preview" event scheduled for April 30th. So while I would guess that there may be soft openings prior to that date, the grand opening will likely be early-May 2014."

Twitter full of reports of a fire at Little Mermaid, probably due to fireworks.

More interestingly apparently the team was still letting people into the building.

The Mines mountain really is a masterful creation as the centerpiece of New Fantasyland.

For those who continue to doubt the relevance of Avatarland, take note of how Disney has successfully executed the various scenes of New Fantasyland (Belle, Little Mermaid, the Dwarfs) under the context of the Enchanted Forest. See how each unique story plays into the larger thematic experience, through the landscape that has been created.

I think doubting it's relevance might have more to do with the fact that so far it appears to be a one hit wonder that will have come out 7 years prior to the land opening, and that kids at that point won't be aware of and adults won't care about.

As far as successfully executing various scenes that play into a larger thematic experience. 1. They're not even done building even though the grand opening was over a year ago 2. is the larger experiance princesses? Because to me it feels like they went "Oh well one prince castle is great, lets drop a few more behind it and see if people like it" (I ignore the circus). Individually they do all look great, but by no means do they form a cohesive land.

Successfully executed? Debatable. Personally, I find it to be a bit of a mess. Clashing styles, poor scaling, and a lack of vision.

The only thing that really clashes imo is the forest concept and Mermaid's queue area with all the palm trees. Otherwise it looks pretty good.

I agree its well done and 7DMT will be successful especially for its demographic...not big with me but big with my daughter and her demographic... granted its taken way too long but 3 years from now no one will care it took this long

There is a lot of pressure being put on this modest little family coaster. But it doesn't really matter, for the "Pixie Dusters", this is going to be 70 secs. of unrestrained bliss. Which makes it about 30 secs. longer than their Valentine's Day sex.

I think you are giving them a bit too much credit there on that last point.

I really wish they would have moved the thing in original concept drawings. Have a courtyard in the middle, so you can enjoy the ambiance of each of the facades instead of having the mountain in the middle of everything. It looks really nice but blocks scenic views of the Little Mermaid especially.
