They didn't announce Insidious until July 16, more than a month after the movie came out.

That might be a pretty big if.

As stated, John mentioned that the next house (Wisconsin; which has been heavily rumored for Conjuring) won't be announced till after TWDA's opening. It wouldn't be far fetched to see them announce it later on.

Of course, one curveball would be if Hollywood is getting The Conjuring and we're not (like Crimson Peak last year). I would imagine that would increase the likelihood of us getting Krampus, which in my opinion is better anyways. Honestly though, it is hard for me to imagine it really happening, no idea why, just a gut feeling. I felt the same way about Crimson Peak last year.

All I know is that there is a high probability that we're getting at least a couple newer ips to appease the younger crowd.

I didn't realize they're making an Insidious 4 (est. Oct. 2017). Although I enjoyed that house last year, I really hope they don't pull another AWiL stunt.

For what it's worth, Hollywood's codename of Doris Day seems uncannily like Krampus; so unless if something happens, I can't see Krampus being Orlando Exclusive.

That reporter made the most lame assumption by comparing Kong to Diagon. Gringotts was so far behind and completely overshot the runway on even soft opening. UC was sweating bullets over the issues and Warner Bros. saying no to soft opening. Finally, they soft opened Diagon but not the ride.

Because UOR went to them saying "you know whats great? all the money you'd be making if this thing was open before the ride."

That Doris Day codename could be almost anything... hehe. She performed a million different things. I bet if I tried, I could probably connect just about any movie to her. I think it's easier to match because people are really hoping that Krampus happens. Guess we'll see. I would agree with you that if it does take place, it should be on both coasts. If not, there are going to be a lot of disappointed folks somewhere.

Just a side bit of info (not really spec)... Have all of you heard about the movie that is supposed to be released later this year called Death House? I just found out about it a couple weeks ago. It stars a ton of major horror movie stars throughout the years (compared to The Expendables, but a horror film). Seems like it's going to be pretty crazy.

I don't see the logic in having The Conjuring exclusive to Hollywood. It's going to be the biggest horror movie of the year by a wide margin, no way marketing would let it be one coast only. I can see Krampus being exclusive to Hollywood though, it seems much more like a Murdy property. Also, isn't Doris Day supposed to be FVJ?

Who knows why they do what they do sometimes? In 2013 Hollywood got Insidious (2), which I'm pretty sure was the 2nd biggest horror movie to come out that year and we didn't get it here. 2014 We both ended up with Dracula Untold ,which if anything, was an action film. Last year Hollywood got Crimson Peak (top 4 or so in horror -2015) and we ended up with a hastily thrown together Purge, which at least did much better at the box office.

Doris Day could very well be FvJ too, which we're obviously not getting, unless they pull an AWiL (God... please no).

I honestly don't even understand how The Conjuring made so much at the box office. The movie is solid, but c'mon, over $318 million worldwide (only a 20 million budget!). That doesn't seem right to me. Given how much it made and is also going to make with the new film, you'd have to wonder how much compensation Warner Bros. would want for it's use???

Holy cow!!! I wanted to remind myself about the obscene amount of $ that the Paranormal Activity series pulled in versus spent to make. The budget (according to wiki) for all 6 films was a little over $28 million versus a staggering $889 million box office. Clearly there seems to be a demand for ghost films at the box office if Paranormal Activity is still raking in the dough.

FvJ would make sense at Hollywood considering they got Halloween last year after Orlando had it two years ago.

All I really want to know is if there really is going to be a house this year where I'm sitting at my keyboard thinking to myself... Why the hell would they make a decision like that? Ya know, like choosing to use identical repeats, maybe using something outlandish like Hollywood using This is the End last year, or them using something really ridiculous like Quija (2) just because it's a Universal film coming out in October.

I'm just guessing of Thou Shall Not be Named being Lovecraft, considering that it would make sense with some of the material included.

I'm going a different direction with Shall Not Be Named. If what I've been told is accurate (and I believe it is, since I've had everything on the list told to me by two separate sources who were correct in the past AND a new source this year), the hint will make perfect sense.

That said, this is an odd year for me. Normally, I hear what the houses are then wait for the public clues to start bouncing around so I build off of. I'm going solo this year, and it's a little nerve-wracking. I could be wrong on all of it.
