As of today you were no longer allowed to have a wait time for Krakatau while already having another, which in turn positively effected all the wait times in the park. Some rides stayed between 'Ride Now' status and ~20 minutes throughout the day. Still hitting the triple digits for the major attractions, though. (Honu, ika Moana, Krakatau, Kala & Tai Nui)

That would make sense as everyone in the park would have the coaster tapped in along with another so the coaster would have those long wait times. Glad they are testing and adjusting to see what will be best

Hi, I am new. Would like for someone who has been to describe the difference on entering the park through Cabana Bay vs. entering in the main entrance. Is the line to enter the park on the Cabana Bay side long? How does it compare to the normal entrance? The pictures I saw seemed like there was just a big hub of people and everyone was crowding to get to the check in to get your wrist band. Is it like that entering on the Cabana Bay entrance as well? What time would you recommend lining up to get in on the Cabana Bay side? Do you have to flash your hotel key to be able to enter on that side? Thanks so much.

In case youve been staying away from Review thread - here's ours.

I was hoping to have this debut with new site, but took a brief delay.

You enter the same area as other guests. The only difference is you skip the whole bus route and underground walkway.

I'd agree to some extent.

Everyone in the park is in a line at VB, while at most other water parks guests outside the physical queue are not in the line (and don't contribute to the wait time).

For the sake of discussion, instead of throwing mud back and forth -

Why is it "wrong"?

While it would be long, it wouldn't be as long due to the fact that people would be far less willing to stand there. However, I don't think the system is broken or inherently flawed. This is pretty similar to how the classic Disney Fastpass system worked, only difference being there's no standing option alongside all this.

They can make the system work, it will take adjustments though. I trust Uni.

Because the majority of people would not "wait" 300 minutes for a waterside if they had to stand. They'd look for something else to do, leave the park, or complain to guest services. Just imagine if Flight of Passage had Tapu Tapu, the wait would be 12 hours. The lines for food would also be long and people wouldn't be able to ride anything for 12 hours.

Great review! Incredibly thorough.

One note: I know you mentioned that payments on the UO app need to be set up the day before but I had no issues doing it the day off an TapTuPay working beautifully. This was on Sunday so I guess whatever kink there was may have already been worked out by then.

Then they would be doing something else til the point that all the slide lines are so long they have nothing to do but go into the lazy river, wave pool, shop or eat. You even said it yourself. The park has operational and capacity issues usually ironed out within the first month of soft openings, which it didn't have.

I agree with this, the wait times would reduce based on the fact you can't be in 2 places at once like what happens with Tapu or 3 places at once until today.

I can't be grabbing lunch for an hour and also in line for Honu. All the people in the wave pool, in the lazy river, taking kids to the kids play area, eating, drinking, walking around all wouldn't be in a virtual line they'd be in a physical one which would reduce the wait times by having people have to choose 1 activity.

One of the hardest,if not the hardest, thing to do is change the consumers perceptive or way of thinking. Random fact: Do you know why instant coffee was unpopular when it was first created, even though it tasted just the same as regular coffee and was cheaper? The creators of instant coffee thought they had a hit but it wasn't selling. People perceived others that bought instant coffee to be lazy or poor and those people who did like the product did not want to be perceived that way, so they stopped buying. Don't really know how this relates to Volcano Bay but marketing is very tricky and it isn't always black or white.

I learned this in a marketing class so tell my professor. They did blind taste tests and people said they did not notice a difference in taste. This was also back in the 1950s I think.

I'm giving you guys knowledge that I paid for.

If you want to read more about it.

Let's move Wantilan Luau from RPR to VB and make it a 3x daily thing - a lunch show, an early dinner show, and a late night "lava" dinner show.

How about a rope drop "Calling The Water God Conch Beach Ceremony", mid day hula lessons on the beach, and "The Sunset Vol Awakens Ceremony"?
