If I remember right the houses in the soundstages sort of butt up against a shared area where the actors take breaks, get costumes, etc... so they build the houses so the guest paths avoid that sort of shared spot but that may or may not align with where the masking curtains normally hang on tracks in the stages.

Long story short, the buildings come with build in "stuff" and that can include large hanging black curtains that can be moved on a track to divide the space. Where they align with the plans - yay! - they get used there to stop light bleed and such. But where they don't you either hang some curtains on their own or you build large fabric panels to use as masking.

But you can also build a small segment of panel that the existing curtains can clip on to the side of - since this shot appears to be from an entry or exit door. So they use the curtains as they able to be hung to hide the house from entering guests and then attach it to the panel section just to anchor it and give a less obvious end of the masking than the dusty edge of an old curtain.

It's so tall because those curtains essentially go floor to ceiling.

Oh okay cool. That makes sense. Yeah I was impressed with the curtain use for the lighting when I went on the BTS tour. So much extra work than just building a house!

So..."deadly close".

That sounded odd to me. I feel it should read "deathly close".

So, I looked up the difference between the two.

It seems that deadly should be used if something is likely to cause death. IE: "Deadly weapons" or "Deadly weather" meaning that the weapons or weather are likely to cause death. So, a more literal adjective.

On the other hand, deathly should be used in a more figurative sense. Meaning something is suggestive death or danger. IE: "Deathly boring" or "Deathly cold". You probably won't literally die of boredom, or some cold, but it's a more flowery way to describe them.

So again..."deadly close". Should it be "deathly"?

The way it is now, it's implying that the closeness of "your time" is actually likely to your death. I don't know, I feel that it should probably be the other way.

No actual speculation or anything; just deadly board waiting for the next announcement.

Maybe they're going to introduce some kind of Tapu Tapu thing for the houses and this little skull will appear telling you your time is getting deadly closer.

Imagine all the people in line for the houses being out on the midway, that would be the scariest thing they ever did *shivers*

Everything's gone quiet, on my end too.

Granted, most everything is known. But it's starting to look like sources are actually nervous (at least everyone I normally bounce stuff off is thinking that).

Well... I need to reiterate this.

And referencing my code names for houses, I need to change one.

Crossover = Hubris

The house hasn't changed. My perception has.

Basically, what I was told about this house wasn't specifically what I wanted to hear. It may not be a true crossover. At least not Plague Doctors versus Gargoyles like I expected.

Any more mumblings about The Mummy potentially being a scarezone? If it was, you'd think they would've announced it alongside the release of the film for promotional purposes.

So, the general consensus is no walking dead house this year?

From what it seems, TWD will not be at the event at all.

Which, meanwhile; Hollywood suffers for Orlando.

No Reason. Someone did point out on HorrorNightNightmares that the Legions of Horror could be returning this year.

Sorry for the off-topic, but I watched a film last night called "Abattoir" (directed by Bousman), and well, that would make a great haunted house.
