I mean, I had been told that, but I don't believe it. They really have to get moving to prep that land for construction if that's still the goal

Universal could get a new park up in 3 years.

Soooooo, in your previous post, you stated, "from what I've seen". Should we take that as literal?

I cannot confirm nor deny it at this time.

To be honest, I think they could probably start work next year, and be ready by mid 2022.

Keep in mind, IOA began construction in 1997 and they officially opened the park, along with Universal Citywalk; Portofino Bay and parking. I don't see it as impossible, and that they could easily begin work next year and they would have four years of development from infrastructure to installation of the park. It's not impossible, and that I would imagine it's all waiting on the issue of the Stan Thomas lawsuit (which I expect that to be quick).

But perhaps discussion of when the fourth gate and other things being ready can be taken to a proper thread?

I have zero reason to doubt that Nintendo is going into KidZone. The only doubt I've seen is from those who have a fetish for Woody Woodpecker and/or in denial.

Reason of confusion was @Marni1971 over on the other site stated he heard plans of Nintendo not going into Kidzone as well. He is also reliable

Again, unless they're really gonna move on Park 3 (can we stop pretending VB is Park 3?) I don't see how this makes sense.

Thank you. The "gate" nomenclature precedes Universal. Their marketing department has no right to reinvent long standing theme park nomenclature and even worse are those who are shilling for marketing.

Worse yet, what if Universal decides it a good idea to build a second water park as part of their site B initial rollout, given the demand is clearly there. TEA is not going to reinvent their attendance ranking for the sake of Universal's marketing team either. Nor would I suspect the fanboi's would be happy if VB can't make a top 25 attendance list due to it being inappropriately shunted into the theme park category.

The buy-in of silly marketing gimmicks is inane and promotes the problem.

IMO, they will get a hotel, CitiWalk, and parking up and running before the park. Whether its concurrent construction or not is another question.

I really can't see them starting construction next year. The lawsuit doesn't go to court till May. Even if it does get settled that day, they can't start the process of submitting plans to all of the agencies that they will have to get approval through before thats all settled. I'm sure there will be public council meetings and all that to go through as well. I'm sure there will be some opposition when they submit plans, even if its just some old lady who lives in those apartments. So a 2019 start on infrastructure seems more likely to me.

But still, depending on how much money Comcast throws; they can easily have a three year timetable. It just really depends on a few things.

But, to bring this back to Nintendo, if they are already throwing money at SNW and the WNW plot, and Disney is throwing money at all the 50th anniversary projects, will there be enough skilled, and experienced labor around to really do what they want to do?

I would imagine hotel budgets are very different from theme park budgets.

And that I would also imagine that they would still be able to have the labor available; and that the only problem I could see is construction cranes.

I'm not talking budget. I'm talking skilled labor. Like another posted stated on one of the VB threads, they were using minors to finish VB. That's not skilled labor and quality will suffer if thats what they resort to.

Throwing money at cranes can always get you more of those. You pay enough, they will bring them from other markets.

Yea, considering all that's gonna be going on the next few years, I just don't see Central Florida having the manpower to really throw at a whole new resort until at least 2021

Unless the "Nintendo was moved to park 3" rumors are true and the location changed so they wouldn't have to spread resources as thin. :look:

But building SNW instead of a T23D and a Shrek replacement is a much better idea.

Maybe just a time scheduling change (Nintendo) to accommodate a Universal D23 reaction (Universal fast track of Terminator & Shrek replacements)

But a show isn't a response to multiple actual rides. Announcing SNW with art would have been a much better idea IMO. People will plan for SNW, no one is planning for the T2 replacement

SNW would be a huge attraction. However, people will need to be spread out. It makes more sense to work on crowd distribution in the park more so then building something and then when its too late trying to fix an issue that could've been fixed before. Capacity is important to have for Nintendo

I'm thinking of it more this way: Let's say Uni wants Park 3 to be open by the summer of 2022. They would have to start building no later than sometime in 2018. But by then, they'd be building the DC replacement, the FFL replacement, the T2 replacement, and the Shrek replacement. If SNW was still in USF, that'd be three whole extra rides as well as a multi-level themed land on top of that. That'd simply be too much across different locations at one time. So adding SNW into the Park 3 plans could be their way of preventing themselves from spreading resources dry; it'd be a ton going on at once, but it'd be more comparable to back when Volcano Bay, Kong, Fallon, F&F, the CB towers, and Sapphires were being built at the same time.

Honestly, like I keep saying. I'm more than willing to wait if it means SNW will be the best version it could possibly be here in Florida.
