Just to touch on popularity of the IPs, (not necessarily how well they translate to a theme park attraction):

per Box Office Mojo; U.S. gross ticket sales adjusted for inflation
  1. Terminator 2 (1991) = $435M
  2. Skyfall (2012) = $338M
  3. Bourne Ultimatum (2007) = $295M
  4. Bourne Supremacy (2004) = $253M
  5. Die Another Day (2002) = $246M
  6. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) = $240M
  7. Casino Royale (2006) = $227M
  8. Terminator 3 (2003) = $223M
  9. The World Is Not Enough (1999) = $222M
  10. GoldenEye (1995) = $218M
  11. Quantum of Solace (2008) = $209M
  12. Spectre (2015) = $205M
  13. Bourne Identity (2002) = $187M
  14. Jason Bourne (2016) = $170M
  15. Terminator Salvation (2009) = $150M
  16. Bourne Legacy (2012) = $130M
  17. A View to a Kill (1985) = $127M
  18. The Living Daylights (1987) = $117M
  19. The Terminator (1984) = $101M
  20. Terminator: Genisys (2015) = $97M
  21. License to Kill (1989) = $78M
Since 1984 each IP has averaged:
  • Bourne = $207M
  • Bond = $202M
  • Terminator = $201M
Since 2007 each IP has averaged:
  • Bond = $251M
  • Bourne = $198M
  • Terminator = $124M

I do think the Bond franchise is more relevant but, I wouldn't go as far as to call Bourne a not very well known IP.

I get what point you are making and don't disagree, but you have to be careful using box office numbers. Especially adjusted for inflation. Things have changed so much in the box office that movies from different eras don't really compare. A lot of movies high on the list(including T2) were released multiple times. And those charts count all of the sales as though they were from their original release date, so it skews the inflation numbers. Also, back in the day, going to the movies was huge. People would go see movies multiple times as there was no tv or, later on, no easy way to watch them at home. Now, you can download a movie at home before it's out of theaters and have as good if not better quality than there too. People skip theaters completely now.

I do agree with your conclusion about Bond and Bourne though.

They should’ve just rebooted Terminator 3d for 2019.
On the other hand, could the replacement be Back to the Future? What about that coaster rumor from 2015? Was it delayed to allow Terminator Genisys time in the box office? Or was it fan wishing and not an actual project?

Terminator is now also a joke of a franchise.
Compared to Bourne, Terminator is a flippin Monet.

Is it bad that I'd rather have Sing than Bourne? Because at this point I'd rather have Sing than Bourne.
I would too. Or Trolls. I actually think both would do well and be better received. And trolls merch would bank.

Bourne is dumb- more appeal for teenage boys. Just what UOR was lacking... They should probably find a place to put a Fast and the Furious attraction while they’re at it.
