Excluding VB. Since Dec. 2014. Lost BJ revue, Disaster, Twister, T2 ,Lagoon show at USF. Gained Fallon and FF. IOA is ahead of the curve since they added Scull before ripping DC. Throw in a Hulk refurb which was a year downtime?

I don't mind losing any of those. Besides, we will have the new lagoon show back next month hopefully and the T2 replacement next year.

Also keep in mind this project is being run by Entertainment, not Creative.

Is entertainment doing the Lagoon Show?

In 3 years time, you could say: Since Summer 2018, lost Shrek, FFL, Kidzone and whatever else could be on the chopping block.

Universal aren't a sentimental group and it was time for these rides to go.

It's kind of a silly argument if you just exclude the good things. Since Dec 2014:

USF:
Beetlejuice, Disaster --> F&F
Twister --> Fallon
T2 --> In Progress, opens 2019
Lagoon show -->In Progress, opens 2018
IOA:
Nothing --> Kong
Dueling Dragons --> In Progress, opens 2019
VB:
Nothing --> Volcano Bay
Hotels:
Nothing --> SF
Nothing --> Cabana Towers
Nothing --> In Progress, opens 2018 (Aventura)
Wet n' Wild --> In Progress, opens 2019/20 (Endless Summer)

2 years to change a show and reuse the same building. This thing better be absolutely incredible.

I mean, USF can create and build a new nighttime lagoon show in less than 6 months- or change out projectors overnight at FJ and not even go down.

So 2 years of closure- nearly the construction timeline of Volcano Bay... if it isn’t anything less than spectacular, then... what took so long?

The more new stuff they bring online the faster they can close Shrek or Fear Factor or KidZone.

I think it's more a timing thing than anything else...They don't want Bourne to overshadow F&F...They want to have something to attract people from IOA when Potter opens...yadda yadda, sometimes I don't understand them haha

Disaster closed Sept 8 2015. If I pay for a pass or ticket I want my money's worth. I won't concede to what Universal thinks is a good timeline! They have no love for me. I was there in March so missed even F&F.

There's a disclaimer on the tickets:

Parks, attractions, or entertainment may: close due to refurbishing, capacity, weather or special events; change operating hours; and otherwise change or be discontinued without notice and without liability to the owners of Universal Orlando Resort™ (“Universal”)

If you think Disaster closing, doesn't make your pass or ticket worth it, then don't buy them.

This was never gonna be an E-ticket. Just swapping out one show for a different kind of show

True but so do 10 million people behind you in the queue more than willing to pay, so I don't think Universal need to worry about your opinion :shrug:

They care very much about GSATs....But certain rides need to be refurbed consistently to ensure that they are presentable for the paying public...I would say Universal and Disney care very much about making you happy, because happy people spend money

New rides = more money
Excessive maintenance = less money

Everybody gets your point but you’re determining the resorts value by one ride that’s been a well documented failure. Take a year out, come back in 2019 for the HP coaster if you must. Not every new ride can the be the greatest.

So, do you guys think this will be run like T2:3D? As in, be an attraction run by attractions operations or do you think it'll be run by entertainment similar to Horror Make-Up or Sinbad?

T2 was split into 2- attractions ops ran it and would coordinate with entertainment.

Shows like Sinbad, FFL and formerly BJ are just purely entertainment.

I wonder if there's continuous show times like T2 or once every few hours

T2 was never ever run by Operations. Unless operations attendants herding people around and cleaning glasses means “run by Operations.”

It was the exact same set up as every other Entertainment show in a large stage or building.

Incorrect. Attractions OP's ran the whole guest flow operation. From greeter to salad bar (glasses distribution in the queue), loading unloading theater, cleaning glasses etc. they were all confined to front of the building and had their own office and breakroom up there. They never really had any interaction with show techs or the actors.

2 mins before showtime op's would "activate" the show by pressing a button outside of the preshow doors and that would let Entertainment know that they're opening the preshow doors in 2 mins. Then entertainment would start/stop the show themselves but attractions op's were in charge of loading and unloading the theater and such.

I'm curious to if this show will be doing basically back to back shows like T2 or only run a few times in the day.
